Chalet ‘Maria Eulalia’ is a beautiful whitewashed Spanish villa ensconced in a quiet cul-de-sac in the middle of the exclusive and established urbanisation, ‘La Capellania’. Chalet ‘Maria Eulalia’ offers spectacular views as well as complete privacy as it is not overlooked from any side. With no empty plots or building works in the neighbourhood, peace and tranquillity is assured.

A truly luxurious villa, Chalet ‘Maria Eulalia’ offers ample accommodation for either one or two families. The accommodation comprises of a generous hall leading into a large dual aspect living area with breathtaking views, a large dining room and a big kitchen. From the hall, there are stairs up to the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a double bedroom with 2 single beds. The patio doors from the living room will take you out on to the substantial terrace, ideal for watching the sunset and enjoying an evening meal. Notes
Benalmadena Pueblo 2km from Chalet Maria Eulalia is and old Andalucian village with lots of character, with narrow cobbled streets, squares with orange trees and fountains, an old church built up on top of a rocky outcrop lit up at night, Castillo Colmenar - a fairytale castle, restaurants, small shops etc. Benalmadena Port 10 mins drive. Fuengirola 15 mins drive. Mijas 15 mins drive.

Benalmadena Pueblo has shops, cafes, bars, restaurants etc, and approx. 2km in either direction from the Pueblo are large supermarkets. Fuengirola has open air markets, indoor shopping centres, hundreds of shops, fishing harbour, marina, zoo, every restaurant imaginable, long sandy beaches, play areas etc. Benalmadena Port has a huge marina with great architecture and islands, fishing trips, diving trips, glass bottom boat trips, sailing, Sea-Life centre, Parque Palomas with play areas, animals, and birds to feed etc. Mijas is an old mountain village with cobbled streets, a very old church and shrine, donkey drawn carts, bull-ring, gardens with amazing views along the coast, cafes, restaurants, gift shops etc. Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Torremolinos all have beach side paseos - promenades, which are level and run for miles / kms. You can walk from Benalmadena to the Malaga side of Torremolinos all alongside the beach, dotted with chiringuitos (beach restaurants) for refreshments any time. In Arroyo de la Miel is Tivoli World, which is an amusement park with rides, shows, etc for the whole family, and next to that is a Cable Car which goes to the top of the mountain and back. Close by is an ice rink, and huge heated pool etc. Puerto Banus is great for "jet-set" watching, or drooling over the expensive boats and cars. Marbella old town is definitely worth exploring, and is full of old white-washed houses, cobbled streets, hidden squares, great restaurants etc. The whole Andalucian coastline is full of sandy beaches and bays to try out and relax on, and a wonderful choice of restaurants and Chiringuitos to eat in, with the whole family - children are welcome everywhere! Selwo adventure park near Estepona makes a great day out too. There is just so much to see and do, if you pop into Tourist Information you can choose for yourself.

Lovely villa

Quiet location, great accommodations. Everything was in order on our arrival. I was impressed with how clean the house was. The host had thoughtfully provided a notebook with information about the area as well as local numbers that we might need. The beds were comfortable and all the appliances were in good working order. Did have to be careful and not run too many appliances at the same time so as not to overload the electrical supply. With 8 adults, we worked around that and it was no problem. Owner was prompt with replies and everything was handled perfectly.

Very Disappointing

We felt we were lucky to find this villa available during the summer holiday period, the pictures portrayed a beautiful, quality home and we got very excited. 2 weeks after paying the full balance + breakages deposit monies, and after chasing the English Contact, she eventually confirmed receipt. We never were provided with a formal rental agreement or inventory check list. We were put in touch with the lady who would meet us at the Villa and were just asked to confirm our flight details nearer the date of departure. On arrival at Malaga airport I rang the keyholder to say we would be at the villa in half and hour and was told the cleaners were still at the villa. Apparantly we should have arrived after 2pm, but were never advised of this, so we waited by the pool until we could be shown around. We were quickly shown where the rooms were and the fuse box before very kindly being dropped to the local supermarket at the top of the urbanisation to get much needed food and drinks for our children aged 3yrs and 5yrs old. After spending the first afternoon at the villa, we emailed both the owner and key holder to express serious concerns over the broken patio tiles which were very badly covering the hole containing the pool pump as my mother had stumbled down it, 2 sunbeds were broken, the door handle fell off the master bedroom where our 3 year old son was sleeping, and the light in the ensuite of the self-contained bedroom downstairs was on the blink again (an electrician had been there when we arrived). These points were all very quickly rectified by the spanish owner who came out to see us and personally take care of it and we thanked him for doing so. Unfortunately we soon decided that this 'luxury villa' probably was when it was first marketed, but now it is need of some loving care, updating and modernisation. The kitchen units themselves would surfice if the utensils and appliances were in good condition - we cleaned everything before we used it, there was 1 baking sheet for cooking, the frying pans were dangerous as they didn't have flat bottoms so slid on the electric hobs and didn't properly heat food, electric mixer/whisk was incomplete, the dishwasher didn't clean unless 2 tables were used and only for lightly soiled items - this does not service a villa for 10 people. There were plently of plates, cutlery and glasses. In the lounge the sofas need hoovering underneath, the television remote was filthy and the telly itself needs replacing - the colour can not be adjusted to get a reasonable picture. The master bedroom has an ajoining bedroom which is great for families with young children, these are the only two rooms which have air conditioning. The bed linen here was bleech stained and should be replaced. The ensuite is a good size but needs updating. The biggest disappointment was the seperate, self-contained bedroom downstairs by the pool and unfortunately my parents, who had very generously paid for the villa for us, had this room. The smell of rising damp was awful and got ino the linen in the room. This did improve slightly during our stay as we left the door open to air all the time we were at the villa. As already mentioned, the ensuite light was not working and this was rectified quickly by an electrician during our stay as putting a normal lamp in a damp bathroom is not a good idea! The plug sockets in the bedroom were dangerous, hanging out of the wall. I would strongly recommend that families who stay here hire a car as the villa is located in the middle of an urbanisation in the hillside. The bus stops at the top and bottom of the urbanisation. It would have been very helpful to have been provided with street maps of the local area, bus / train information, attraction leaflets or a computer with free wi-fi for you to find this information out yourself. It was a challenge to find the tourist information offices let alone working out how to get to other places. We had 6 adults, an older teenager and two younger children, all of whom loved being by the pool here but being truthful, after paying 2200 euros for a week here the adults were all disappointed in the overall quality of the villa which falls far short of value for money.
