Fundo is a separate house located midway between Almunecar and Salobrena in the Alfamar urbanisation. It is situated well up in the urbanisation and this means virtually no traffic noise from the well trafficked, N340 highway. The high, south facing position provides lovely views of the sea, Salobrena and surrounding hills. Fundo is built in the traditional manner for the area with rendered brick and terracotta roof tiles. The floors are tiled and Spanish style bars “rejas”, provide all round security.The villa is adequately furnished and equipped and has its own pool. It is just a short walk to the communal tennis court.
Main house: A lounge with open fireplace and double doors to a covered terrace leading on to a large open sunny terrace. The new fully fitted kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge, and minor electricals to make life easy. The house has 2 twin bedrooms, 1 double bedroom and one bathroom to comfortably sleep six. The house has all the modern conveniences, as well as the modern kitchen, there is a TV, DVD player, small barbecue, sun lounges, pergola, fans, heaters and so on.
The house is very comfortable and we enjoy especially the fantastic views, the swimming pool, the lovely quiet area, the privacy. There are also a few fruit trees on the property, we enjoy a variety of fruits throughout the year, apricots, peaches, mangoes, guavas, grapes, custard apples, oranges etc, yours to enjoy if they are ripe when you are there.
Apartment: Below the main house is a self contained apartment with open plan living area with kitchenette, 2 ring hob and small fridge. There is one, double bedroom with en suite bathroom and can be used as a quiet retreat.
Outside: The Large, partly covered terrace is used for alfresco dining while the open area is excellent for catching the sun. Through a small gate steps lead up to the private 7metre by 3metre swimming pool. The washing machine and clothesline are located in the garage.
Fundo is in a very quiet area with fantastic views to the Mediterranean, yet is quite close to towns, shops and tapas bars. It is located in an area that has wonderful climate, very sunny and mild winters. Almunecar and Salobrena are in the Tropical coast and many tropical fruits such as, mangos, custard apples or chirimoyas, avocadoes, etc are grown here. This is the real Spain with wonderful restaurants to try the typical Spanish food, tapas, and lovely fish and seafood all year round. Prices of restaurants and food in general are much cheaper in this area. To play golf in Salobrena is around 25 Euros for example, much cheaper than most other areas and you can now practice on the brand new driving range.
Fundo has many interesting towns and places to see within easy driving times. Granada and the famous Alhambra is only 50 minutes away and is a must see. The Alpujarras, magic mountain villages overlooking enormous valleys are even closer. Some of historic Spain is close by, the caves at Nerja are not to be missed and keep an eye out for the Roman aqueducts. For the skier the Sierra Nevada is the only place in Spain where you can snow ski in the morning and swim in the ocean in the afternoon. There are many beautiful white towns to visit, play golf, tennis and swim and eat and eat and…..
