Location:

Holiday apartment in ideal location: close to the airport, close to motorway, close to town and all amenities close to two Seas: Mediterenean and Mar Menor and veriaty of beautiful sandy beaches, the unspoilt and wild ones almost private and those with pleny of people on them with children playing areas, water sports, restaurants, cafes promenades and mud baths. The Salt Lakes with its numerous colourful lakes and Nature Reserve Park are just 10 min walk away from the apartment. There are numerous cycling and walking paths to explore the area and if walking is too much in a hot summer days then bicycles are posible to hire free of charge from Town Hall in San Pedro. Next door is Thalesian Hotel with it's bars and restaurants, pools, therapies and fittness centre.

Apartment:

Top floor 2 bedrooms apartment with private terrace and roof solarium in a quiet location, on the outskirts of San Pedro del Pinatar, next to Thalesian Hotel. The apartment easily caters for 4 people. It is a brand new apartment finished in 2007, quite specious . The Living room and terrace are overlooking Nature Reserve Parks, Salinas and Mediterranean Sea in close up. There is SAT-TV with all european channels in the Living Room. The bedroom windows are overlooking large communal park with swimming pool which is securely fenced and gated. From my kitchen gallery you can see the entrance to the Thalesian Hotel.
The area around:
Close by to the complex and walking along Avenida del Puerto towards Mar Menor you will find bars cafes shops, play areas, sandy beaches, mud baths and water sports. A beautiful promenade divides the Mar Menor and Salt Lakes where you can indulge in therapeutic mud baths or simply walk safely during the day or night. This place is very popular with tourists all over the world. Walking in the perpendicular direction you will find Nature Reserve Park, Salinas with its numerous Salt Lakes of different colours, Mediterranean sea and even more unspoiled blue flag sandy beaches. The nearby salt Lakes are home for migratory birds: flamingos, herons owls, eagles.

Next door is Thalesian Hotel and Thalasso Centre offering the most modern thalassotherapy, which means the combined use of the therapeutic effects of the sea: offering sea water treatments, circuits. swimming pools, hydrology, also beauty programmes, fitness centre and classes eg yoga, pilates to the public.

San Pedro del Pinatar town:

San Pedro del Pinatar was traditionally a seafaring and agricultural centre, but recently has become one of the principal tourist towns in Murcia Costa Calida. A typically Spanish town with lots of activities including water sports such as sailing, wind surfing, jet skiing, canoeing, fishing, para gliding, water skiing, boat trips, horse riding, bird watching. Festivals and events are taking place throughout the year in the town square. San Pedro has got weekly markets;on Monday in San Pedro and on Thursday in Lo Pagan, and offers freshly grown fruits and vegetables and other goods. The town offers authentic Spanish feel with several tapas bars/ restaurants and other types of cuisine available. Also banks, night clubs, casino, wide range of shops and supermarkets can be found there. The nearest supermarket within 15 min walk is the Mercadona, or within 10 min drive you have Lidl, Carefour or Eroski and Dos Mares. The local area is very flat and ideal for walking and cycling.

Key holder:

The key holder lives in the same complex. She can arrange for airport transfers from either Murcia or Alicante airport or Balsicas. Welcome packs are available, you can ask her all the first basic questions for shopping trips to Dos Mares or Torrevieja or taxi service or bicycle hire. There are parking bays just outside and the the front entrance to the block where the apartment is and also at the back and sides of the block. The block is located just off the main road of Avenida del puerto and 3 minutes driving distance to 774 exit from motorway AP-7 and N332.

Within walking distance from the block where the apartment is there is a main bus station (estacion de Autobuses) with regular bus service to nearby cities of Cartagena, Murcia, Alicante, Torrevieja and Madrid. Linia 70 goes to Murcia city and cost approximetly 3 euros only. The nearest train connection is in Balsicas within 15min drive by bus or taxi.

Area:

This is Costa Calida area of striking landscapes and scenery with the most beautiful natural wonder of Mar Menor, a coastal lagoon largest of its kind in Spain and having maximum depth of just 7m. The waters themselves have high therapeutic qualities:rich in magnesium calcium sodium bromide, iodine and fluoride are very effective against arthritis, rheumatism, tendinitis, nervous and articulatory disorders. Muddy deposits of clay are believed to contain natural healing properties of sulfur, good for skin conditions and bone fractures. Area boasts mild winters, very low annual rainfall and over 3000hr of sunshine each year. This region of Murcia has been declared the healthiest place to live by World Health Organisation, spanish best kept holiday secret. Additionally to Mar Menor you are surrounded by stunning golf courses, beautiful Nature Reserve Parks and Salinas which are haven for flora and migratory birds including flamingos stopping here on their journey from Europe to Africa.
Golf: There are numerous golf courses close by: Villa Martin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, Roda Golf and La Finca which are only 15 min drive away. Championship golf courses are at famous La Manga area.

A tastefully decorated, spacious, airy, very well equipped apartment. There were 3 of us staying there. It was easy to keep cool even on the hottest of days. In an excellent position, a mini-supermarket and a wonderful little cafe 3 minutes away-Spanish breakfast for 2.50 euros. You can see the flamingoes from the balcony, and the entrance to the reserve is 2 minutes away with a lookout tower and visitors centre opposite. Everthing else is a 10-15 minute walk away. A good place for bird watching, walking and cycling. Only 2 restaurants close by. Linda, Northern Ireland.
The owner is exceptionally kind and a pleasure to rent from. Recommended for: Sunbathing all year round, Bird watching, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers.

Notes
This location is especially recommended for people who enjoy walking and cycling as there are a variety of coastal and natural park reserve walks and cycling paths which are just minutes away from the apartment. There is plenty in the surrounding area to see and enjoy during your stay. The airport of San Javier is only 15 min drive away. The nearest supermarket and brand new restaurant is just 50m away from my apartment - across the road - and you can buy anything you need there.

San Pedro del Pinatar

Appartment was great,some items were broken and had not been replaced, television showed no english channels,we were under the impression the it overlooked the Salinas but there was abig garage/car wash/shop & restaurant between the appartment & the Salinas which could be seen just about.The holiday in San Pedro was very good would reccomend both the apparment and San Pedro with provisoes.
