The Comarca of the Matarraña (Matarranya) is virtually unknown outside of the historical province of Aragón of which it forms a part. Surprising, considering the beauty of its mountains (los Puertos de Beceite) and river valleys swathed in pine forests, olive and almond groves. The stone built village of Cretas, is one of the prettiest of the 19 villages that make up the Matarraña. Wonderful for people who would like to see the ‘real’ Spain, who love walking and cycling or are interested in plants and bird-watching.

The Picasso Museum in Horta de San Joan is only 20 minutes away.
