The cottages has modern amenities, with sheets and towels etc included. There are wood burning stoves and wood is available as winter evenings can be chilly. Satellite TV, many dvds and books are available for 'home entertainment'.

Casa Jacaranda has 3 double bedrooms, the master bed room having a private courtyard. A traditional kitchen with long dining table. A formal room with wood burner and a snug sitting room also with a wood burner. Upstairs there is a 'loggia' with windows over looking the valley. Outside there are two terraces, the lower one surrounded by roses and jasmine.
The Alpujarras is a region nestled between the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range and the Andalucian Mediterranean Sea, where there are clusters of picturesque white washed villages offering the discerning traveller a rare insight into a forgotten era of rural Spanish life.

The area is delightful to explore on foot and there are many well signposted walking routes.

For the serious walker there are two famous long distance footpaths that cross the Alpujarra. One is the GR-7 which begins in Tarifa in the Cadiz province and crosses Europe to Greece. The other is the GR-142 which runs from Lanjaron near Granada to To Almeria.

Those with a taste for natural beauty wiil be drawn to this beautiful region which is relatively untouched by tourism. Farming remains the primary local activity and the hill sides are terraced with Almonds, olives and vine.

The national park lies above the main road and is a green oasis of mountain oaks, chesnuts and pine cut through by mountain patience you can spot wild ibex, mountain goats, golden eagles and wild boar.

There will always be someone at hand to welcome you and sort out any queries.
