Casa Las Jaras is a newly constructed villa with private pool (8 x 4m; 1.3 - 1,9 m deep.). The house is set in a finca of 8,000 square metres, in the foothills of the Sierra Tejeda-Almijara. It has a delightful feeling of comfortable seclusion about it -yet it is perfectly situated for visits to the Málaga coast, while the historic city of Granada would make an excellent day trip. It sands near the old Moorish villages of Archez and Salares, approximately 30 minutes from the coast, and is set in the magnificent landscape of the Sierra Tejeda mountains, surrounded by vine-covered hills and a valley sweeping down to the sparkling blue sea in the distance. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for walking, particularly in the cooler months and Spring.

Casa Las Jaras and the swimming pool area in particular, is in an enviable location, taking full advantage of the sweeping scenery and the hot Andalucian sun, tempered throughout this area by the altitude and the fresh mountain breezes. Its geographical location and the beauty of its scenery, makes this area a wonderful place for a holiday at any time of year. The last 900 metres are of rough track, though accesible with a standard car.

All on one level, this house is ideal for anyone looking for a lazy, relaxing holiday well away from the madding crowd but near enough to the villages of Salares, Archez, Canillas de Albaida and Competa for enjoying a night out in one of the many bars and restaurants.

The front shaded terrace has a built-in barbecue at one end and is ideal for outside dining whilst enjoying the panoramic views of the countryside (Natural Park). The Natural Park 'Sierra Tejeda-Almijara' is a carefully preserved area of spectacularly natural beauty teeming with wildlife including deer, mountain goats, hawks and eagles. As well as heaven for nature-lovers, the park is also a walker's paradise. A choice of sandy beaches can be found just 30 minutes by car, while the delightul resort of Nerja is not far away - a visit to its famous caves is well worthwile.

For those who like to combine the usual holiday pursuits of swimming and sunbathing with some history and culture, there is plenty to see in this area. Casa Las Jaras also provides a great base for a walking holiday.

OUTSIDE
Light and airy, comfortable and well equipped, this house is perfect for holiday living. It is perched on a hill side and the swimming pool area in particular, makes the most of the spectacular views across the mountains and down towards the Mediterranean.

An open terrace runs round the front and side of the house, so you can dine alfresco in either sun or shade and perhaps enjoy tasting some of the local sweet wine. There is an outside shower and plenty of room to sunbathe and relax around the attractively tiled pool. The pool can be floodlight at night.

This property is completely secluded and peaceful -the only sounds you are likely to hear are those of goat bells in the distance. You can enjoy the magnificent view whilst having a meal from the front shaded terrace or pool area.

INSIDE
Entry to the house is into the light and airy, open-plan living/dining room with fireplace, T.V. set (with T.V. SAT) and DVD player, radio with audio tape and CD player; the well-equipped kitchen is separated by an American style breakfast bar.

The kitchen is well equipped for the keen cook, with electric cooker, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, juicer....
The washing machine, iron and ironing board are outside in a separate utility room.

The two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) have built-in wardrobes and are comfortably furnished with top quality beds. A baby cot and a highchair can be provided on request at no extra cost.

There is a large fireplace and also an air conditioned machine (cold/heat) in the living room and several electric heaters -mobile radiators- and fans for the bedrooms and bathroom, making this an ideal choice at any time of the year.

The ceramic floors, beamed ceilings and good quality furniture are not only indicative of the owners' good taste but also their eagerness to ensure that their guests are comfortable in their surroundings.

Notes
The house is in the boundaries of the Sierra Tejeda-Almijara. Designated a natural park in 1999, this large and rugged mountainous region of 40,663ha stretches across the provincial border of Granada and Malaga. Its western part in Malaga province is known as the Axarquía and is famous for its attractive villages dating from Moorish times. It is also superb hiking country and its numerous steep mountainsides make it ideal for climbers. Its highest peak is La Maroma, at 2,080m.

Its relative remote nature has meant that it has a high number of endemic species of flora and is rich in wildlife, particularly raptors and mountain birds.

Walking is an important attraction in the region. The natural park Sierra Almijara and Tejeda offer a wide variety of walks. The summer in the area is very hot. If you want to have an active walking holiday the summer is not the best time of the year. The rest of the year the climate is agreeable (usually 10 to 15 degrees higher than Great Britain and the Netherlands).

Spaniards in general are not great walkers, although the walking area here is immense.

Notes
A booking deposit of 25% of the total cost for the duration of your stay must be paid when booking. This is non-returnable in the event of any cancellation by the client. The balance due must be paid -in cash- on arrival to the property. Keys will be delivered at that moment.

The cost of electricity, gas and water is included in the weekly rental price. Also all the wood necesary for the fireplace for the winter season.

The letting includes bed linen and towels (2 per person). Please bring your own beach/pool towels. A washing machine, ironing board and iron are provided for your use.
