If you are looking for Brit type pubs, discos, fish 'n chips & 'kiss me quick', you are in the wrong part of Andalucia! Try the Costa del Sol!
Villa Alarian is in a quiet corner of Pago del Humo overlooking farm land with dramatic views to Medina Sidonia. It was the Duke of Medina Sidonia who led the Spanish Armada! Passing traffic now are locals or fitness nurds hiking or biking. Horses, goats and sheep tend to follow the same trail to the hills so please keep the gates shut. Ignore local Storks. They nest where they want!
You can drive or walk to the village shop or village restaurants. You may think the stars are enough to guide you at night, but take a torch just in case. Villa Alarian is 15 min. drive from the Blue Flag Beach of Playa de la Barossa. Many regard this long stretch of sandy beach as the best in Spain. Parking is free and there are Restaurants and Bars where you can enjoy a tapas while watching the most fabulous sunsets. Nova Sancti Petri has a shopping and restaurant mall. Becoming very popular.
Villa Alarian is only 10 minutes from Chiclana, famous for boutiques restaurants bars etc. There is a meat and veg. market where you can stock up for the evening BBQ. A Spanish phrase book is helpful. Remember this is Spain before mass tourism. Although English is spoken a few words of Spanish will really impress! Other Hot Spots include Cadiz, Seville, San Fernando and don't forget day trips to Tangier. Some very important National Parks and Golf Courses are close by. If you are pining for your M&S, Gibraltar is 90 minutes after an interesting walk across the Border!
The Villa is large by any standard. Over 140 sq mt in a 1K sq mt private garden. We advertise sleeping 6. The lounge is for watching TV or chilling out in the evening. NOT for extra beds. Similar Size Villas advertise sleeping 10! Almost Unique to Villa Alarian is the Casita (small house) Barbeque & Bar, complete with electric light, running water and designed for male (or female) adventurous cooking.
The Casita is part of a very large patio area that surrounds a Roman Style Pool. The Patio has night halogen lighting, perfect for a midnight swim and for fun and games!
The pool has a raised edge but no fence.
Finally, from Spring to Autumn Villa Alarian is serious sunshine. Breezes will fool you but keep the sun bloc handy!
