This one storey villa is reached via a short incline along the tree lined drive leading to this pretty villa which is elevated and perfectly located in a tranquil and relaxing setting of an exotic garden. The whole property is surrounded by palm trees and mature plants and is completely private and secluded. The large driveway has ample parking for 3 cars.

The hallway opens onto a very large open plan lounge dining room, which has a picture window and two patio doors, when fully open, give you immediate access to the pool and patio areas.

The property comprises of three double bedrooms. The master bedroom has a full bathroom with a large walk in shower and the two other bedrooms have their own en suite shower rooms.

Two of the bedrooms open directly onto the patio at the rear of the property, whereas the other bedroom opens onto the front.

There is a fully fitted kitchen and utility room with a door onto a small covered patio which has ample drying facilities.

There is a tiled,covered eating area with table and chairs, ideal for that leisurely breakfast. Also another dining area under a gazebo, perfect for al fresco evenings under the stars.

The large pool has a lawn area with parasols and sunloungers,for that much needed siesta after a swim.

As the whole property is on one floor it is the ideal holiday home for families, young and old.

There are supermarkets and restaurants all within a 10 minute walk and the nearest beach is just a 5 minute drive away.

Around and about
Calahonda is located about mid way between Malaga Airport and Marbella, close to several golf courses and has the typically sun-drenched beaches for which the Costa del Sol is so popular.
It is also a WiFi zone so those of you who can't leave their laptops at home are catered for.

Just a few kilometres along the road is Puerto Cabopino, we think it's probably the most secluded and picturesque port on the Costa and a popular venue for a lunch time drink or that romantic meal before taking a stroll along its sandy beaches.

A few kilometres more and you hit the world famous resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus - the millionaires playground. The old town of Marbella is a labyrinth of small streets, bedecked with vibrant bouganvilla. Don't forget to have a drink in Orange square, a lovely plaza in the centre of the old town surrounded by orange trees.

The marina at Puerto Banus has many luxury yachts and there are fabulous restaurants and incredible designer shops, Gucci, Christian Dior, Bulgari etc, all around the marina. The perfect place to while away the hours and people watch.

Just a short drive away is Mijas, one of the "white" villages, famous for it's donkey taxis.
Gibraltar is only an hours drive along the coast.

There are numerous championship Golf courses within a radius of 20km, which is why the coast is often called "Costa del Golf". There is a 9 hole, short game course just minutes away.

Fuengirola is a few kilometers in the other direction. This is a nice Spanish 'working' town which has a super range of shops both large stores and small Spanish ones. It also boasts a bio parque, an award winning conservation zoo which is lovely to visit in August when it stays open till midnight so you can see the nocturnal animals.

There are plenty of restaurants to suit every taste and pocket, a long paseo (promanade) to stroll along and a large water park for those more adventurous.

How ever you choose to spend your time on the Costa del Sol, you will never be bored.

Beaches
At Calahonda the beach is golden soft sand - ideal for family holidays. Along the coast on virtually every beach you will be able to enjoy a selection of good quality restaurants and chiringuitos (beach bars) which specialise in freshly caught sardines barbecued in sand filled fishing boats infront of the restaurant.

They are generally competitively priced and offer something for every taste and pocket. Sun beds can be hired from the restaurants on a half day or full day basis.

Cabopino is the longest of the Mijas Costa beaches at over 4,500 meters long and 25 meters wide. This beach is perfect for the whole family and caters for sunbathers, scuba divers and fishermen alike. It is a fairly straight line of beach with golden sand and plenty of beach beds and parasols for rent and a good choice of lively beach bars for refreshment and entertainment.


During months of June, July and August there is always a feria on somewhere. These are large fairs or fiestas that usually go on for a week. It is lovely to watch and join in with the Spanish as they dress in their flamenco costumes and dance the night away.


Malaga airport is only 25 minutes away on the Ap7 (toll road)

There is a €250 refundable damage deposit which will be returned as soon as the property is vacated. A welcome pack comprising of bread,water,milk,coffee,t bags,wine and beer is included to start your holiday off.
The pool will be cleaned twice weekly and the final clean is included.

We are Bob & Brenda and have lived in Spain for 7 years - and love everything about the Country! Casa Mariposa is our family home and we stay very close by so we are on hand for information and assistance. Bob also tends the pool and garden during your stay. Great villa

Great villa and a great area if you like a quiet place for your holiday. The only minus was that lack of Internet, but that should have been taken care of now. The owners lives nearby and fix any smallest issue almost before you even knew you had them.

Peace & Tranquility

We have stayed in villas all around spain every year since 1999. We have not however found one we would both like to return to, until now. That has now changed and we honestly believe we will return to Casa Mariposa. It simply ticked all of our boxes. Brenda & Bob are genuine friendly hosts who do not get in your way unless you need them, we didn't need them as everything about the holiday was fantastic. The Villa is extremely spacious and well presented and its position could not be better. Far enough to be peaceful but close enough to walk to a number of restaurants. The Villa is not overlooked and with a security automatic gate (opened by "the zapper") makes you feel very safe. Within 10 mins drive of the villa you can be at hundreds of eating establishments so choice is really good. Basically if you want to book a villa in a very nice area of Spain and know you are going to have a good time then this is the place. Many thanks to Brenda & Bob
