Costa De La Luz
The literal translation of the “Costa De La Luz” is “The Coast of Light” for a very good reason. With over 300 days of sunshine and clear blue seas this region shines like no other. This region remains as it was intended, unspoilt and typically Spanish. The historic city of Cadiz, Europe´s oldest inhabited city is only a 30 minutes drive. Here you can enjoy the sights and sounds of a vibrant historic city bursting with culture. Jerez and Sevilla are other regional cities attracting people from around the world to enjoy the local produce and sample life in this historic region of Spain.
Once you have sampled city life you can relax on some of Europe´s best beaches. Most are Blue Flag recognized and have the security of life guards during the summer season. Inland from the coast you will discover unspoilt countryside stretching for miles and dotted with pueblos blancos (old white villages). A region truly for everyone.
If you are looking for a day out within the region you will find:
the Zoo Botanico in Jerez
Aqualand in Puerto Santa Maria
Whale watching in Tarifa
A day in Tangiers, Morocco, ferries from Tarifa
The Donana National Park
Chiclana de la Frontera / La Barrosa
The old town of Chiclana is 6 kms from the beaches of La Barrosa and is a great place to visit to buy fresh local produce, including fish, meat and vegetables and then enjoy a coffee in one of the many narrow streets.

The beaches of La Barrosa are the envy of the region and extend for 8 kms.
