AUTUMN, WINTER AND SPRING AT CASA ESTIVAL - LONG TERM LET
Casa Estival is available for a long term let commencing 1st October – 31st March 2009. These dates are flexible upon request.
If you wish to escape the winter weather or even experience the joys of owning a second home in the sun for 5 months, then this might be just what you’re looking for.
Nestling on the lower slopes of the Sierra Cabrera in Cortijo Grande, just 15 minutes drive from the ancient Moorish town of Mojacar, is Casa Estival, a beautiful Andalusian villa. The setting is one of outstanding natural beauty and the villa is afforded spectacular 360 degree, Mountain and Golf Course views. If it’s a quiet time you’re after then you won’t find anywhere much quieter than Cortijo Grande. It’s a haven for birds and the mountains are awash with orange trees, almond and olive trees as well as the goats that graze, with their bells gently ringing, on the mountain-side. This region of Almeria is celebrated for enjoying the more days of sunshine then anywhere else in Spain.
Casa Estival:
Is arranged as follows:
3 air-conditioned (hot & cold) bedrooms (sleeps up to 7 + travel cot/s): Master Bedroom, Twin/Double Bed Room and Bunkroom with bunk beds plus a single bed. It has a family bathroom and a separate shower-room.
Open plan kitchen with dining area and separate lounge.
The lounge has two sofas, armchair, Satellite TV, DVD, CD & Video players and an open fireplace and beautiful views across the valley.
The kitchen/dining area is well equipped with oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave & fridge freezer large dining table seating 8 comfortably, French doors onto terrace.
A washing machine and drier, ironing board etc are also supplied. All linen and towels are provided.
Swimming Pool, Terraces & Gardens:
The lower terrace of the property has a beautiful private Swimming Pool, which, with the safety of young children in mind, is accessed via a gate. Sunloungers and parasols are provided for relaxation. The pool is maintained weekly throughout the year, so it’s always possible to take a dip!
Furthermore the villa has 6 other terraces including a BBQ terrace, Hammock terrace, plus 4 other terraces all with tables and chairs for dining al fresco & all with breathtaking views of the mountains, golf course and beyond.
We have gardeners who tend the plants and palm trees. There is also an irrigation system in place for watering. Lemon trees provide fruit for drinks and aloe plants, some aloe vera if required!
Golf.
Because of its elevated position, Casa Estival overlooks the whole of the Cortijo Grande Golf Course, which operates on a pay as you play basis. The course has 18 holes and sits in the valley, surrounded by the wonderful Sierra Cabrera Mountains. The course vegetation is composed of orange, lemon & almond trees which splash the fairways with colour in the winter months. The course is well maintained yet not fussy, etiquette is high but relaxed. Golf buggies are available for hire. Two sets of golf clubs are kept at the villa for you to use should not wish to take your own. This region of Andalusia has many golf courses and, should you choose to explore, then Championship courses are available at nearby Desert Springs and Valle del Este.
Ski-ing & Winter Sports
Just 2.5 hours drive from the villa is the city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada ski resort. Granada is a wonderful city with fabulous shops and is home to the breathtaking Alhambra Palace. The Sierra Nevada is Spain’s highest mountain range and conditions are suitable for all levels of skier. Tuition is available, as is hire of ski wear and equipment. There are plenty of hotels should you wish to stay the night, although it’s perfectly doable as a day trip. This really does bring an exciting dimension to your stay at Casa Estival!
Beaches
Casa Estival is only a 15 minute drive to some of the most spectacular and unspoilt beaches in the Mediterranean. Mojacar has long sandy beaches, equipped with climbing frames for children, beach bars and restaurants. The stunning Cabo de Gata National Park with its unspoilt and often remote coves is a pleasure to discover. The nearby fishing port and marina of Garrucha, where the fish are auctioned every day and can be sampled in the local restaurants, make this a seafood lovers haven!
Local Towns:
Turre is the nearest small town, just 7 mins drive away, and it has a supermarket, numerous restaurants and banks.
Mojacar, is 15 mins drive and is separated into two parts; set on the mountainside is the ancient Moorish town or Pueblo as its known, it is made up of sugar-cube like houses perched on the mountain and linked by old cobbled streets and arches. From is wonderful, elevated piazza you can take in the spectacular views of the Mediterranean coastline. The second area of Mojacar is the Playa, the beach, this has fashionable shops and an array of beach bars, cafes and restaurants.
Garrucha also 15 mins away is the working sea-fishing port of Garrucha. It’s famed for it’s seafood, naturally! and has many restaurants, shops and a marina.
All towns have weekly markets.
Fiestas
These are a Spanish way of life! All the local towns and villages celebrate with regular fiestas which usually involve music, dancing, dressing up & fireworks. The New Year celebrations in Mojacar pueblo (old town) are always a huge success!
Babies & Children
If you are travelling with babies and children then our intention is to make your holiday as easy as possible. Within the villa you will find a travel cot, steriliser, listening monitor, toddler cutlery, travel stairgate and highchair. For older children there is a selection of indoor and outdoor toys, books, videos and games to keep them entertained whilst you’re resting. Children also enjoy the abundant nature around the villa.
For entertainment away from the villa then horse-riding is available in the mountains, Go-Karting in Garrucha, Aqua Park in Vera or visit the village of Tabernas where you’ll find Mini-Hollywood, an old film set where some of the most famous Westerns were shot and they still re-inact Cowboy and Indian shoot outs for your pleasure! Recently re-named Oasys, Mini-Hollywood has a wonderful new wildlife park attached to it, a great day out.
Villa Management, Services and Price
We pride ourselves on our personal service and exacting standards. We are always available to help with any enquires. Once you are in Spain then Casa Estival is managed locally to provide you with support as required. Rental of the villa is 1,300 euros / £1,025.00 per calendar month.

Electricity allowance of up to 100 Euros per month, any additional will be charged seperately as shown/if shown on bill by electricity supplier.
What’s not included:
Gas bottles (for hob and additional heaters - provided for start of rental)
Weekly cleaning is available on request and will be payable locally.
Wood (for fireplace) can be purchased locally as or if, required by you.
Getting There:
Casa Estival is easily accessible from the following airports: Almeria (30 mins drive), Murcia (90 mins drive) or Alicante (2 hours drive).
Car Hire:
It is necessary to hire a car, we can advise on this if required.
A final word:
Please note that as the villa is built into the hillside and has numerous steps leading between terraces.

Special notes
BOOKING & PAYMENT TERMS:
25% deposit is required to secure the booking. The balance is due 8 calendar weeks prior to departure.
CLEANING:
The villa is cleaned prior to your arrival, a mid stay clean and laundry change occurs for bookings of 2 weeks or more.
For long term lets Maid service can be arranaged on request and is payable for locally.
For long term lets (2 months +) a returnable innventory deposit is required. This is 800 euros and is payable 8 weeks prior to occupation and will be returned to you at the end of the contract.
