Description: |
This deceptively spacious self catering villa completed in 2006 situated on a plateau in Cucador which is located in the Almanzora Valley. The property can be reached from Alicante, 2 hrs drive, Muria, approx 2hrs and Almeria 1 hrs. It is approx. 20-30 mins drive to Garrucha, Mojacar, Villericos and San Juan de los Terreros beaches, the latter being more spanish. The are 4 - 18 hole and one 9 hole course within easy driving distance. At Garrucha there is a Waterpark which is great fun for families. Everyday there are different markets in the surrounding villages. Albox, Vera and Huercal Overa are 3 towns which have supermarkets and all large town amenities which are approx 10 minute drive away.
The village of La Alfoquia is 1km, where there are local restaurants ranging from traditional spanish food, english and Thai. Zurgena is 2km away. Albox, Vera and Huercal Overa are all approx 10 mins drive and have large supermarkets and shops. Huercal Overa has the local hospital, with all facilities.
Is located in the most eastern part of Andalucia, bordered by the provinces of Granada, Malaga & Murcia. The area is still very Spanish and becuase of this English families have settled here in and around the area. It is a favourite place for Spanish people and many families come down to this area from Northern Spain for their holidays. It is Europe’s mildest region and enjoys 300+ days and over 3000hrs of sunshine annually. The mean average temperature is 18 Celsius and through the summer months the average is 24 Celsius.
Because it has in some ways been overlooked by the developers, its unique landscape remains very much unscathed. It is variously described as a Lunar and also surreal, with light quality which is perfect for artists and photographers alike, you can see the night sky quite clearly as there is very little light pollution. Many of the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti westerns were made in the area of the Taberna desert including A Fistful of Dollars & Lawrence of Arabia starring Peter O’Toole.
Strange as it may seem in the winter you can lie on the beach in the morning and within a 2hr drive into the mountains be skiing or snow boarding in the afternoon. Much of the coast between Almeria & Mojacar is covered by the Cabo de Gata National park, an area of sand dunes, wetlands and salt marshes which serve as an ideal habitat for several breeding birds, Pink Flamingo, Storks, Avocets to name a few.
Strict building controls are in place within the area of the park so the tranquillity will hopefully remain. The area remains very uncommercialised, but there are many very pretty coastal villages with unspoilt beaches which remain very much under used until late in the day when the local population use them after their days work.
If you like to play golf there a courses throughout the region with both Desert Springs and Marina Golf Mojacar within easy driving distance.
Overall the Costa Almeria offers a very diverse location with excellent beaches outstanding countryside a wealth of history and some of the acknowledged best golf courses in Europe.

It has 3 bedrooms, one en-suite, lounge/dining room all with air-con. Bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, utility room. All bedrooms have fans. There is a terrace, private swimming pool, with outdoor shower.
Lounge has 2 - 3 seater sofas, dining table and chairs, sideboard, Satellite TV with DVD and CD player.
The kitchen is fully fitted with granite worktops and all the usual appliances are to be found. Fridge/freezer, Microwave, Kettle, Coffee maker, toaster, Iron and board. There is sufficient crockery and cutlery for 6 persons
Bathroom is fully tiled with bath, shower, wash hand basin, bidet, toilet, illuminated mirror and shaving point.
Master bedroom has en-suite, fully tiled, dressing room with wardrobe, double bed, and French doors out to terrace. For your further security there is a key safe in the master bedroom. Two further bedroom have wardrobes, one has double bed and one 2 single beds. All have ceiling fans.
Bed linen, tea towels, and towels ( but not beach towels) supplied and changed weekly. Duvets are supplied, with extra blankets if needed.
Shutters and fly screens are fitted to all windows, and security grills are fitted to the outside.
There is an 8m x 4m swimming pool, with shower, at the front of the house.
Please note: Swimming pool depth varies from 0.9m to 1.9m and parental supervision is required at all times.

A welcome pack is included.
If you are booking for 2 weeks a linen change is included.
