Just 1km from the centre of Begur, a charming hillside medieval village with a wealth of Catalan restaurants, small shops, bars, cafes and places of interest. The front door leads to an entrance hall and open plan living area with comfortable seating and dining for 8 persons. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a washing machine and dishwasher. A dining terrace from the living room overlooks the pool and has panoramic views. The house was totally refurbished and extended in 2006 and is built on one level with the exception of the superb pool area which is on a lower level. There is a gate to the steps to the pool area which means that this area can be closed off for safety with young children. With four spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and two shower rooms, one of which is at the poolside, this house offers spacious and comfortable accommodation fitted to a high standard. Two of the bathrooms are ensuite and the finest sanitary ware has been installed. Sunbeds adorn the large decking surround to the pool and there are areas of natural shade as well as awnings which can be extended from the windows. The bedrooms all have glass doors to the terrace and are fitted with quality furnishings. The swimming pool is a very good size ~ 10m x 4m and has easy access to the shower and additional kitchen with eating area and bbq. Ideal accommodation for a very easy holiday. In 7 minutes by car you can reach the delightful coastal village of Tamariu with its sandy bay and waterfront restaurants and within 10-15 mins are the beach villages of Sa Riera, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Aiguablava. There is rarely overcrowding as there is such a choice of beaches and some are relatively unknown by tourists. This area attracts many spaniards from Barcelona and other parts of Spain, many of whom have holiday homes here. Go-karting for kids and adults-10mins drive. Water park- 20mins drive. Zoo- 10mins drive Cycling- bykes can be hired in Palafrugell Golf- many golf courses within 10-20 mins drive. The house manual gives details of all the courses in the local vicinity. Sailing- 10mins drive. There is a sailing club at Sa Riera and kayaks and pedallos for hire. Kayaks also at Calella. Cultural activities- all over the region: Figueres- Dalis museum- 40mins drive Medieval towns- 15-20 mins drive- Peratallada- a must to visit. Restaurants- too numerous to mention. Begur has a very good choice as do the coastal villages. Shops- an interesting selection of very good shops selling clothes, jewellery, etc. Food- excellent speciality shops in Begur for fish and meat plus very good supermarkets. Walking- this is wonderful walking country, especially out of season when it is not so hot. The tourist office has a map showing popular walks. Skiing- within 3 hours you can be on the slopes in Andorra. Night life- plenty if you want it but there is not a string of discos here. Mainly late night cellar bars with music, some with dancing. There is a club in Begur and one just outside, not far from the villa but well away from everything and everyone! The main square has entertainment in the high season with a mixture of traditional and modern music and dancing. Wonderful to just sit and watch!
