Description: |
Casa Cenacheros is located on Calle San Antonio, two or three minutes walk from the main square, Plaza Almijara. Several good restaurants and bars are within a few minutes walk and a hotel at the other end of the street has a swimming pool which is open to visitors. The house is directly accessible by car for unloading luggage with the main car parking square a few minutes walk away.
The house is unusual in that it has panoramic views not only from the roof terrace but also from both windows on the south side which includes the main bedroom and the dining area.
The house was completely refurbished in the summer of 2005, a modern bathroom and fully fitted kitchen have been installed but the essential Andalucian character of the building has been retained with tiled floors, old window shutters and beamed ceilings.
Competa is about an hours drive from Malaga airport, 16kms from the coast up a winding mountain road on the south side of the Sierra de Almijara mountains. It is the largest village in the area with plenty of restaurants, shops and bars, and is well located for visiting the many costal resorts and only 2 hours drive from Granada. Car hire can be arrange to meet you at the airport if required, so you don’t have to queue. There is also a local bus service connection to other local villages, the coast and to Malaga.
Accommodation
Casa Cenacheros is ideal for four people, but can accommodate 2 more, sleeping on a convertible sofa in the lounge. There is also a cot and highchair available if required.
The front door leads into the lounge, with free-view satellite TV and double sofa bed. The double bedroom is also on the ground floor.
The bathroom is on a split level between ground and first floors, convenient for both bedrooms.
The first floor comprises a dining area with double doors leading through into the twin bedroom.
The kitchen is on a split level between the first floor and the roof terrace, convenient for serving meals in the dining area or on the roof terrace.
The large roof terrace has extensive views of the surrounding village and countryside and the Mediterranean Sea some ten miles distant.
The first floor has a combined heating and air conditioning unit with remote control; the ground floor has a portable oil storage radiator. There is an old cellar under the house with a fridge-freezer which can be used for additional food and drink storage if needed.
