Description: |
The property is a typical period flat dating back to 1860. The flat is situated in one of the most central streets in the Upper Raval area of the city and has fast become a trendy area for locals and tourists alike. It is incredibly well located, with buses, metros and trains no less than 3 minutes walk away (nearest metro is Universitat). The airport bus stops at Universitat and is 5 minutes walk to the property. The famous Ramblas is a very pleasant 5 minutes walk away. This street in the Raval neighbourhood has a good mix of bars, cafés and restaurants as well as art galleries, supermarkets and bakers – in fact, anything you could want in one street! Placa Catalunya, the city´s most central square is just 8 minutes walk away.
Around the corner from the flat is Pla dels Angels – a big lively square with pavement cafés and restaurants and a few trendy shops. However, the focus of the square is MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona. It´s a gleaming white stone and glass building and a great location for art buffs. In and around this square are also some very important medieval buildings, most famously the Angels Convent.
The apartment is located on the fourth floor (no lift) of a 147 year old mansion block. The building was originally owned by a countess and when entering the main doors there is an elegant entrance with a large arched wooden doors, on the other side was where she would have kept her horses and carriage.
Inside the flat there is a spacious open plan living area with adjacent kitchen which creates a contemporary dining and sitting room. The flat has a great deal of natural light. There are sliding French windows onto the back inner well, with a clothes line to dry clothes – very useful for small items.
The master bedroom, which is off the living area, is a generous size and has an original ceramic tiled floor, in here there are two single beds.This bedroom has a small balcony onto the main street (windows are all double glazed with blinds) with good views below and across the roof tops.
The second sleeping area has a kingsize sofa bed which is very comfortable and if only two people are renting, it makes a nice second sitting room to sit in and read and listen to music.
The flat has one shower room (no bath), it is small but well designed!
The owners do not recommend this property for families with small children or very elderly people because there are quite a few stairs to climb.

Special notes Prices: Bookings are accepted for less than 3 night stays for an additional 50 euros per night. Tax and fees are included. Cleaning fee is included. For customers in UK, payment is accepted in sterling either in cash or by bank transfer to UK account.
Payment: A 30% payment is required by bank transfer to secure the booking, the remainder of the fee will be payable in cash on arrival along with a 200 euros security deposit which will be refunded in full on departure. When the booking is made the owner will wait 3 days for payment after which time the dates will be made available for other clients. If the booking is cancelled before arrival the deposit will not be refunded.
Arrival & Departure info: Usually guests must depart by 11am but it is possible to leave luggage for later collection if no other clients are arriving that day. The owner will be waiting at the apartment to hand over keys, collect fees and answer any questions. PLEASE NOTE: For arrivals later than 23.00h or departures earlier than 8am there is an additional charge of 30 euros |
