DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM LONDON STANSTED TO JEREZ DAILY
The Apartment
Town centre, Bus and Train stations, Parque de feria, supermarket, pubs, restaurants and Bullring are all only a few minutes walk away. The John Harvey Sherry Bodega is at the end of the street.
There is plenty of street parking, but a car is unnecessary in Jerez.
A bright 1st floor apartment with three bedrooms which sleeps up to 6. It has two rooms with double beds and one with 2 single beds.
The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, frying pans, saucepans, coffee maker, toaster, microwave/grill/oven, gas cooker.
It has a very pleasant living/dining room area, with television and radio.
The bathroom is clean and neat, with shower, bidet, toilet and hairdryer.
The balcony leads off from the living room, with a view of a lovely quiet leafy street.
Jerez-de-la-frontera, situated in the province of Cadiz, Andalucia, has not lost its typically Spanish charm. It is a city of contrasts, from the old quarter dating back to medieval times, the magnificent Moorish architecture to the modern stylish shops in the city centre.
The people of Jerez are very friendly and helpful.
Food and Drink
Jerez has a very lively café culture, with a seemingly never ending variety of bars and eating places, offering a variety of Tapas dishes or restaurant meals.
Cultural Activities
Jerez is a very cultural city offering the visitor many choices of art, music, museums and theatre, with a definite bohemian and very laid- back atmosphere.
Flamenco
Jerez is also the birthplace of Flamenco and the tradition of Flamenco is very apparent everywhere in the city, with impromptu performances in some bars, as well as organised performances by professional artistes.
Flamenco guitars of the finest quality are still hand-made locally.
Sherry Bodegas
The area in and around Jerez is famous for its Sherry production and there are many ‘bodegas’ to visit where one can learn the history and methods of sherry making, as well as enjoy a tasting session.
Andalusian Horses
Jerez is also the home of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and the world famous beautiful white horses can be seen performing. The famous Jerez Horse Fair and Feria usually take place around the end of April to the first week in May. This fair is one of Jerez’s main events, with people visiting from all over Spain and abroad.
Motorcycle Grande Prix
Jerez is also famous for its motorcycling circuit, where the annual Motorcycling Grand Prix is held. Motorcyclists and other interested parties from everywhere in the world converge on Jerez for four days in March for the Championships.
The circuit is used for Formula One practice during the off- season with all the well known racing drivers participating. The public can attend these practice days.
Jerez also has a zoo and botanical gardens.
There are a number of beaches within short travelling distance, either by car, train or bus.
The tourist information office in Jerez is in the city centre and will supply maps and information.
