Casa Mirador, a spacious villa near Begur, perched on a hill in a quiet cul-de-sac, has spectacular sea views from every room. Villa, terraces, gardens and private heated pool (8x4m) are all not overlooked.
Totally refurbished for 2008 to a high standard, it offers spacious accommodation over 2 floors, with 2 large living rooms, one on each floor, and can sleep a further 2 people using the sofa bed. The upper floor L-shaped living room gives onto terraces providing sun and shade and overlooks the pool, the Med and the Illes Medes. The lower level living room gives onto the pool area.
All year round, within a few mins drive of the villa you can enjoy the rugged coastline, unspoilt fishing villages and beaches - Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Tamariu, Llafranc, Calella, Aigua Blava, Fornells, Aigua Freda; medieval villages and towns-Pals, Peratallada. Begur, only 5 mins drive away has characterful shops, cafes, restaurants; markets each day of the week. Nearby activities: golf, diving, sailing, water sports, tennis, horse riding, walks, go-karting and cycling; summer outdoor music festivals with international musicians.

ACCOMMODATION
The whole villa (inside and out) has been refurbished to a very high standard for 2008: new kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring; repainted inside and out; new furniture.
The villa sleeps 10 comfortably in the 5 bedrooms and can sleep up to 12 using the sofa bed in the lower level living room (supplementary cost). It is also possible to have 3 double beds and 4 twin instead of 2 double and 6 twin.
The layout makes it suitable for 2 families, children and teenagers, with a large living room with TV and DVD player on each floor, and bedrooms and bathrooms on each floor. Some DVDs, a PS2 console with some games, table tennis and books which you are welcome to enjoy.
The villa has a detached garage and additional off-road parking; parking is also possible outside the villa.
Central heating and open fire for winter months.
OUTSIDE
The pool is heated with 80% renewable energy, extending the usual swimming season from 3 to 7 months, from April to end October, and providing a consistent 27 C water temperature if required.
To the side of the house on the lower level there are extensive paved areas surrounding the large pool (8m x 4m) overlooking the sea with 10 sun loungers, a dining table and chairs, offering areas of either sun and shade all day. There is an outdoor shower by the pool. The barbecue can be enjoyed here.
The large L-shaped terrace on the upper floor offers fantastic views of the Mediterranean sea on one side and the green hillsides and pool area on the other, and an outdoor dining table with 10 chairs.
The villas elevated position benefits from a lovely sea breeze.
The front garden is landscaped and there is a seating area under a lovely old olive tree with views of the Illes Medes and sea.
Below the villa, going down the hillside, the garden extends into a large wooded area which children love to explore.
All the different outdoor areas and pool offer complete privacy and are all well established.
NEAREST SUPERMARKET - 3 mins
COAST/BEACHES
Sa Riera 5 mins drive, about 20 mins on foot with cafes, restaurants, supermarket and shop.
Sa Tuna, Tamariu, Llafranch, Calella, Aiguablava - all within 10-15 mins drive with waterfront restaurants, cafes and shops, and each with their own distinctive character. Well-maintained coastal path (Cami de Ronda) accessible from these beaches with stunning scenery.
GOLF
The Costa Brava has recently won an award for the Best Emerging Golf Destination worldwide by IAGTO. The local climate makes the area conducive to playing golf all year round, with perhaps spring, autumn and winter being particularly pleasant.
3 well-known golf courses can be reached within a 10 min drive from the villa, in the Pals area: a championship course at Serres de Pals, Pals Golf Club with its course running parallel to Pals beach, and Emporda. A further 6 courses are also easily accessible slightly farther away.
TRAVEL
There are 3 airports nearby served by Ryanair, Easyjet and during the summer charter airlines: Girona 45 mins approx. Barcelona 1½ hours approx. Perpignan 1¼ hours approx. Reasonably priced car hire available at these airports. We use Goldcar at Girona airport. A car is highly recommended to enjoy the area. Driving time from Calais approx 12 hours.
PLACES OF INTEREST
Begur 5 mins drive away, characterful medieval hillside town with quaint alleys, market, castle, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants.
Girona 45 mins drive - it has a beautiful old town with Cathedral.
Barcelona 1½ hours drive or train from Flaca (20 mins drive).
Dali Museums: Pubol 25 mins, Figueres 1 hour, Cadaques 1 1/2 hours.
La Bisbal 15 mins famous for ceramics and pottery. Peratallada 15 mins medieval village with restaurants and shops.
There is something for everyone in this area described as the jewel of the Costa Brava: relaxing in the villa, by the pool or on one of the many beaches; spectacular coastal and rural walks, water sports, marine reserves (Ses Negres, Islas Medes), golf, tennis, scuba diving, water park, horse-riding, go-karting; daily markets held each day of the week in a different nearby village or town; cafes, shops, superb restaurants either by the sea or in charming medieval towns and villages inland; day trips to Girona, Barcelona, and the Pyrenees; Dali museums at Figueres, Cadaques and Pubol; ceramics and pottery shops at La Bisbal; summer outdoor music festivals with international musicians.

We enjoyed our stay, everything was fantastic! We have travelled between Begur, Torroella de Montgri, Tossa de Mar, Girona, the mountain of El Angels, Cadaques, Pals, Peratallada, La Bisbal, all the beaches and mostly all by bicycle. Special notes
Prices shown are for the villa per week in UK pounds and include water, gas and electricity, and for stays longer than one week cleaning of the villa at the end of each week.
These prices are negotiable for long winter lets and off season for smaller groups who may just wish to use the upper level.
The prices are also negotiable for last-minute bookings when we offer a minimum 25% discount if you are booking within 2 weeks of the start of your holiday and 15% if it is within 4 weeks of the start, depending on the number of guests.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday but flexible out of season. Arrival 4-8pm (arrangements can be made for later arrivals). Check-out by 10am (flexible out of season).
30% non-returnable deposit on reservation. Full balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival date. £200 breakage deposit (refundable less any breakages) payable with final balance.
Keys held with helpful and efficient local managing agent (fluent in English) who will deal wiht any queries during your stay.
All directions/instructions provided prior to your holiday.
