Description: |
Located in the old part of an historic village, this house has been completely renovated and newly furnished. A twin bedroom is located on the ground floor and the double leads out onto a large roof terrace with mountain views. The well equipped kitchen/living area and shower room are at ground level. Cafe bars, bakeries, small supermarkets and a phamacy are all within 3 minutes walk.
Velez de Benaudalla is a Moorish village situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and 15-20 minutes from the Costa Tropical beaches of Salobreña, Almuñecar and Motril. This area enjoys a microclimate with year round fine weather. Velez is best known for its waterways and Casa Jardin Nazari, a unique example of an Arabic garden and displays the remains of a medieval house and orchard.
The Sierra Nevada National Park offers walking and wildlife, horseriding and mountain biking. The ski resort, Europes most southerly, is about 50 minutes drive. The slopes are reached via the valleys of Las Alpujarras, a collection of whitewashed villages well worth visiting. Maps and information of the surrounding area will be left for visitors.
Motril town, around 15 minutes drive has many shops and tapas bars and its port is a good place to sample seafood.
