Guest comments: "The house is great, very clean, new electrics and plumbing! Olvera, sleepy (in June) friendly and pleasent people. Grazalema and Zahara for wildlife-binoculars a must. The Via Verde is very good for local wild flora in situ. Places to visit all within 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive, Granada, Cadiz, Cordoba, and Ronda. Overall a great place and will pass on to all that ask." S and F
"Thanks for a great stay, its nice to have an honest seller for a change. House is as stated and the views WOW would stay up on the terrice for hours. Great place for running although would often walk as I would get to hot. Vulture rock is a must, saw at least 150 birds flying at once." Dave
Olvera is a little known white hill town and perfect for a relaxing holiday. There are plenty of food shops including a supermarket, daily indoor food market, Saturday market and enough restaurants so you don’t have to eat in the same place twice. About fifty different bars ranging form a bar in “someone’s front room” to a full on high tech disco.
Olvera has outstand views of the hills and mountains around the area and our house has possibly the best view in the whole of Olvera due to being able to see the Church, Castle and mountains all from our roof terrace (according to our local friends).
If you like bird watching you can see griffin vultures, golden eagles, falcons and many other types of birds in and around the area. For more active people there are many outdoor activities such as hang-gliding, paragliding, mountaineering, canoeing, swimming, sailing and water sports in the nearby lake of Zahara de la Sierra, or cycling on the unique Olvera Via Verde. The Via Verde is reconditioned disused railway-line through thirty-nine kilometres of beautiful nature reserve.
Olvera is in the country side and 1hr 30 mins to 2hrs drive to the best beaches, although there is a man-made beach near Zahara de la Sierra 20 mins away and a public pool in the town (only open in the summer).
If you want to see many of the major citys in Andalusia, including Seville(to much to mention), Malaga (home of Picasso), Jerez (Spanish white horses), Ronda (oldest bull ring in Spain and the gorge), Alhambra in Granada, and Cadiz (great beaches). All these destinations are within a 1 to 2 hrs drive from Olvera.
The house will sleep up to six but Im only renting to a max of four people at a time. There is an English lady who looks after the house who will give / take the keys and will make sure everything is working on arrival. She will also sort out any problems with the house should they arise. Her husband can do pick up / drop offs to Seville, Malaga and Jerez airports for a fee.
If you want to sight see then the best way is to get around by car, each of the three airports is between 1hr 15 to 1hr 30 drive and all the roads are in great condition.
In Olvera very few people speak anything other than Andalusian Spanish so take a phase book.
The house comprises of: Ground floor Kitchen / dinner lounge wet room with shower and WC First floor one double bedroom Small bunk bed room bathroom with small bath, basin, WC and shower above bath Second floor Room with pull out double bed Sun terrace

Notes
|
Only about two cars a day drive pass the house just for access. There is no parking outside the house as its only just wide enough for a car to drive along. But you can park in many of the streets near by and all parking is free.
Olvera is a "hill Town" with lots of narrow and sometimes steep streets. So I could not recommend our house for people in a wheel chair. |
