The municipality of Mazarron is situated in the province of Murcia, and borders Cartagena, Lorca and the glittering Mediterranean Sea. Mazarron is a popular tourist destination, offering a wealth of leisure activities, amenities and of course beautiful beaches. Mazarron is set along 35 kilometres of coastline, with fine sandy beaches, shallow, warm waters; many with European blue flag status. Mazarron is divided into districts, with the main tourist areas belonging to the coastal area, including the Puerto de Mazarron. Close to the town are some interesting archaeological remains and ancient buildings which tell something of the history of the region.
