Nerja is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Malaga, Andalusia, southern Spain. It is on the country's southern Mediterranean coast, about 50 km east of Malaga. Nerja is protected by the magnificent Sierra Almijara mountain range, and boasts wonderful all-year-round warm weather. The resort is a popular tourist destination and there are also many foreign residents. Nerja is a delightful Andalusian town, with an old quarter and more modern seafront. The town has its own beach, and 16 kilometres of coastline are also there to explore.
