The historic town of Ronda, situated in the Serrania de Ronda mountain range, in the province of Malaga, retains much of its historic charm, although though it has see much development in recent years. It is famous for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the El Tajo gorge that carries the rio Guadalevín through its centre. Head for the 18th century Puente Nuevo 'new' bridge, which straddles the 100m chasm below, for its unparalleled views out over the Serranía de Ronda Mountains. Ronda is one of the oldest towns in Spain and one of the genuine treasures of Andalusia.
