Description

Charming village house with great views.

Welcome to our home! We hope you'll enjoy its charm and location in breathtaking Gaucín as much as we do. The name La Minimalista refers to the house being serene, wonderfully simple, beautifully decluttered and comfortable. It has everything that two people need for a holiday in Andalucia; no more and no less. A luxurious, queen size bed with nice linen, good pots and pans, sharp knifes, pleasan...

Although small, the house was comfortable and warm, benefiting from a log burner for cold nights, and from stunning views south, particularly from the open terrace. Being both around 70, and not very fit, our only problem was the steep stairs; but younger visitors would probably barely notice! So it was another great week in a spectacular village, and a location worth recommending highly.

La Ceramista was a beautiful, authentic Spanish cottage, which was a true delight to live in. Everything was spotlessly clean and extremely well kitted out. The view from the top on the terrace was quite breathtaking and Gaucin itself was a wonderful place to visit.

Owner comment

Dear Irene Thanks indeed for your glowing review. It means a lot to us that our clients enjoy the Gaucin experience. We have not tired of it yet! If anything we find more to enjoy each time and have made some firm friends. We hope your holiday went well and that your daughter saw even more inaccessible charms of Andalucia with Jason and Shannon. Best wishes Henry and Sue

This is a great little spot in Andalusia. Gaucin is beautifully located, and the appartment sits relatively high giving a spectacular view of the Mediterranean coast, the Rock of Gibraltar, the coast of Africa ... and in front of all this, the spectacular nature surrounding Gaucin with eagles and vultures flying above. The flat, though small, is really well laid out (and very tastefully decorated), the sleeping area cool at night (we were there in mid-July), and the rooftop terrace a great place to relax during the day and evenings. For two people (even at 1.95 m in height) it is spacious enough. Great hiking close by and within a shortish drive, a spectacular (and quite private) river swimming spot close to Gaucin station, cork oaks all over ... Half hour drive to the coast (when they reopen the A-377, which was closed when we visited), and interesting towns/cities/beaches/nature reserves within relatively easy driving distance. Good road cycling area with lots of vertical metres if you are so inclined.

We always try to get a week in January . We always go somewhere quiet where they are plenty of local walks for the daytime and good restaurants for the evening. It's important to have local shops for food and wine. It was great to have wifi that actually works as so often it is advertised but for some reason will not work durning ones stay.
