My boyfriend and I stayed in Janet's studio for 7 nights, everything was really well-kept and homelike. We loved the green and quiet area around the studio and of course the private pool, which was the perfect place for us to relax, read a book or just enjoy the beautiful landscape. The studio and the sorroundings are real little pearl. From the studio we also did some trips to Sevilla, Nerja, Marbella or to the nice and clean beach of Mijas Las Calas - but the little city of Mijas has also lots of good restaurants, cozy tapas bars and cafes to offer. So its not really necessary to do big trips. We also did a cooking class with Janet (Paella!!) which was quite interesting, delicious and of course a lot of fun. Janet and Ben (her son) are really very friendly and helpful people and made our stay very special and unforgettable.

Very peaceful and relaxing. An ideal place to recover from the stresses of work. Plenty of mountain walks on your doorstep, and the very beautiful village of Mijas, where you can find a coffee bar or have a delightful evening meal. A trip to Ronda is well worth a visit, and a beach that is well worth a visit is CalaDeLasMijas. Janet is always on hand for any enquiries or problems. Many thanks Janet.

I came across Janet's studio in Mijas looking for accommodation in the Málaga area, and was taken by the studio accommodation, but even more so by the opportunity to visit a local market and to learn how to make paella. Janet is a lovely friendly American who has lived in Mijas for over 30 years and written a number of cookbooks about Spanish cooking. The studio is very comfortable with all amenities apart from a washing machine. Janet provided us with basic breakfast items, a bottle of wine and snack for afternoon tea, all of which were much appreciated. The wifi worked well, always a consideration for us. The view from the window overlooks the valley down to the sea and the window seats were a lovely place to sit and relax with a glassof wine at the end of the day The village of Mijas is a beautiful mountain village, with quaint white buildings and narrow winding streets. I was surprised by the number of tourists but this didn't detract from our stay. There are streets of cafes and tapas bars, unfortunately we didn't sample as many as we would have liked because the studio is situated in the mountains and the trip home is along a windy, narrow mountain road. The visit to the local market was interesting and informative and my husband and I had a memorable evening making and eating paella, as well as sampling the sherry, and the Easter dish of salt cod fritters. Highly recommended!!

We love this apartment! It was totally in tune with our way of spending our vacation. A great playful setup with multiple levels: the private swimming pool is on the lowest level; the living room on another level, and the kitchen and the garden on a slightly higher level. A wonderful view (both hills and even the sea in the far distance). We very much like the fact that the apartment is semi-secluded. It's about a 10 minute drive to Mijas (with plenty of restaurants and good grocery shopping). It's easy to drive to the much more crowded Fuengirola or a lovely beach in Benalmadena (25-35 minutes); only to return to your quiet apartment and relax. Because of our work WiFi is a must have. We had great connection. Mobile reception is fine. The property owner is great.
