11MAY2020: I want to comment on the anti-Covid protocol to guarantee security in hotels and tourist establishments:
"Maintaining the safety distance (maximum capacity of the reception area and other common spaces) and extreme hygiene and cleaning measures constitute the general rule to be applied in each of the areas of hotels and tourist establishments, after their reopening , to avoid infections by Covid-19."
1. In "Casita Kunterbunt", luckily, the whole house is rented to the same guests, so we don't have to deal with sharing areas and that's a good point :-)
2. I have decided to leave 3 days between each booking after verifying the WHO information on virus survival on surfaces, so there is plenty of time to thoroughly clean every corner of the house, disinfect everything and for the virus to die anyway. I really hope this helps so that my guests can feel safe in my home!
Adding text of the WHO: "The most important thing to know about coronavirus contact with surfaces is that they can be easily cleaned with common household disinfectants that will kill the virus. Various studies have shown that the COVID-19 virus can survive up to 72 hours on plastic and stainless steel surfaces, less than 4 hours on copper surfaces, and less than 24 hours on cardboard surfaces."

Basically, you were my only booked guest who actually came and then had to go through quarantine once home. So again, thanks so much for your stay and hopefully see you again, here or in Ireland ;-) i am really happy you enjoyed your stay and my casita!!! Bests, Mareen

Staying here was a chance to experience the real Alicante. Although we didn’t do any cooking the kitchen had everything in it you could possibly need. The bedroom was air conditioned and the comfortable bed made for a good nights rest. The stairs were a little challenging for me but once we reached the terrace at the top the views were breathtaking. We enjoyed spending time here. There was a little fridge which turned out to be very useful. The location of the property is excellent and is close to many restaurants and shops. The market is particularly worth a visit. We found the route up to the house from Alfonso X El Sabio very steep but there is a better route back via steps going past a local restaurant where you can stop for a drink! Mareen was an excellent host. We were picked up and returned to the airport and she gave us an extremely interesting tour of Alicante. We very much enjoyed our time here and will probably return sometime in the future.
Thank you so much for your feedback, i am always really happy to read, that my guests enjoyed their stay and write an extensive description of the area and the house as that helps a lot to understand the location and the property! Good physical health is needed to have a relaxing stay in the old town and its houses. Hopefully see you back in the future, it had been a pleasure hosting you!

Arriving at Casita Kunterbunt, I saw that it truly was everything I had read it would be; it was beautiful, and provided all that I needed. Mareen, who was also my taxi service, was friendly, informative and available to help in any way that she could...and did. It was more a ‘hotel’ experience, as my perfect host had ensured that drawers and cupboards throughout the house, contained anything I could possibly need: a basket of fruit plus individual packages of croissants and other tasty pastries, for breakfast; pasta, grains, cereals and fresh coffee, ready for a quick meal, and; copious bathroom items that beat even the best hotel. What a surprise. Above and beyond what one could ever have imagined. This spot, in the heart of El Barrio de Santa Cruz, was amazing. This was true Spain. Sitting outside in the tiny street late in the evening, or having lunch there under the tree, overlooking the city, was an absolute joy. The roof terrace was where I watched the sun rise early each morning, and a great place to sunbathe, with a perfect breeze/wind coming across the rooftops to keep one cool. There is an amazing view of the city from the bedroom, with a memory-foam bed that afforded me a perfect night’s sleep every night. Mareen is on top of the history of this beautiful city, and showed me places of interest that no ordinary sightseer would normally find; I was fortunate to walk the region with her. Although I knew some good places to eat, Mareen (and sweet little Emma) introduced me to others, for which I was grateful. I enjoyed every second of my holiday at this dear Casita; it was perfect.
Dear Penny, firstly, thank you so much that you took the time to write such a extended review :-) i am truly happy you enjoyed your time here, the house and the city and appreciated the time we spent together. It has been a real pleasure having you and hopefully see you again?!

We had a wonderful 10 night stay in this great little house. You are not far from the beach or the city centre. Plenty to see and do. We would like to thank Mareen for taking the time to show us around this lovely city. We will definitely be back!
Hello Julie, Lottie and Michael, it was my pleasure having you and i would be absolutelly delighted to welcome you back :-) my house is your house! Thank you for your stay and hopefully to another time, Mareen
