Description (written by the owner)

Villa Elena is a holiday mansion on the first line to the sea set in beautiful rolling gardens with a huge spilt deph 20mt pool , water cascades all overlooking the Mediterranean!!.

We are taking a whopping €400 off mid September bookings so wake up to amazing seaviews in sprawling private gardens sweeping down to the coast

We are happy to bring Villa Elena for the first time to the rental market. It is a holiday home idealy situated in the exclusive resort of Les Oliveres, first line to the sea, and characterised with charm and taste and simply perfect for a relaxing family holiday. The villa itself has 2000 square metres of extensive and manuicured private gardens, a huge 20 by 5 metre pool and wrap round teak decking and water cascades that self activate every hour. The pool is graded for toddlers and adults so there are ten metres of shallow water before it becomes standard with a maximum depht of 1.80mt. The Villa is on two levels with both the patio and upper balcony enjoying specacular views of the pool, the gardens and the blue Mediterranean. The large kitchen enjoys all the benefits of state of the art design and appliances including a professional, fitted coffee machine that grinds the beans and makes Latté and Espresso better than you will find in a cafe! The dining area is beyond the kitchen island and leads onto the patio and generous sun terrace with limestone shower enclosure. The lawns run down towards a maritime path that brings you to the beaches and playgrounds. There is also a designated barbecue area at the end of the garden for your enjoyment. Back inside the villa, the living area has leather sofas, wifi, TV and music system. The lounge also connects with the main foyer where there is a cloak room and the first bedroom that has ensuite bathroom. Downstairs in the basement there is a laundry facility and underground parking with entry via automatic gates for three vehicles. Moving onto the second floor you have the master bedroom with double bed, separate slide robes and walk in vestuary, shower enclosure and separate WC and wash basin. This gives direct access to the balcony with patio furniture and again with super vistas of the sea and mountains. The second bedroom on this floor provides two single beds, the kids room another two single beds with the possibility of requesting two extra beds if required. The villa is naturally airconditioned throughout and has automatic shutters, alarm system and private pedestrian access. The villa is also just 100 meters from Les Oliveres 4 star hotel and Spa so you are never far away from a relaxing drink or if you want to pamper yourself, a soothing exotic massage.

We work full time in tourism and we understand that holidays are important. We are agents for all the famous adventure theme parks in the area such as Porte Aventura and Aquapolis so you can book them here in L'Ampolla. We issue you with your tickets and there is no queuing or waiting. Just walk straight in and enjoy the fun. If you are looking for alternative adventure activities such as kayaking through the natural park on the river Ebro, visits to wineries or bodegas, water-sports, cycling trips through the natural park of the delta, then just let us know. The hotel offers the option of restaurants and buffet breakfast while the Spa provides a range of massage and beauty treatments if you feel like a bit of pampering. The nearest beach is Cala La Mola, just a short walk. The other nearby beach and best known in the area is Cap Roig which is 15 minutes on foot. We offer a great activity package that includes GPS adventure challenges, cycling trips, kayaking on the river Ebro, water sports and water skiing, hiking and fishing. All of our guests who have done one of the activity packages has been intrigued and really enjoyed the diversity of what we offer.

All in all, a perfect base for a relaxed, beachside holiday plus great activity options when and if you are in the mood to do something different...

MORE INFORMATION ON THE AREA:

L’Ampolla which is a quaint fishing village on the edge of the Ebro Delta, a destination which has been a favourite with mainland Europeans for over four decades; they are attracted by its quiet charm, sandy beaches, mountain backdrops and the delta. In fact the delta is a nature reserve protected by UNESCO and is famous as a birdwatchers paradise. L'Ampolla itself is has an elegant charm given by the harbour and maritime boardwalk and a relaxed pace of life. It is known through-out Catalunya for its sea-food and the Marina is dotted liberally with cafes and restaurants. Facilities in the village include a large municipal swimming pool, with the mountains as back-drop, tennis facilities, a summer season night-club and lots of sandy beaches where beach volley ball and sun tans are the order of the day. L’Ampolla also has a busy schedule of events over the Summer and Autumn with music concerts, festivals and special events. You can check it all out on the village web site on http:///eng/

The site is in five languages. Worth a mention is the gypsy market every Wednesday morning where you can find anything from a conga drum to an Arabic tapestry to smoked traditional hams and country olives. It is well worth a potter around for the noise and the bustle and the views of the blue Mediterranean stretching into the horizon. Also worth a mention is the summer camp for kids every day during the summer from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. At just five euros a day, its great value and offers the possibility of having the kids entertained for a few hours as mom and dad take some time out. From Les Oliveres/Cap Roig resort, L’Ampolla is a thirty minute walk by the coastline on the GR9.2 (a way-marked walk that begins in the Pyrinees and goes all the way down the coast and to Valencia) The walk winds its way past hidden coves and beaches, along cliff-tops as the turquoise Mediterranean glitters in the sunshine. Its certainly an idea to ear-mark one morning for this mini-hike into the village as it is truly an invigorating and scenic way to build an appetite before lunch in one of L’Ampolla’s many restaurants.

The nearest big is Tortosa, a old town on the banks of the Ebro river; lest we forget, we should begin with one notable annual event that will simply take your breath away. The Renaissance Festival of Tortosa takes place in the last fortnight in July when groups from all over Europe descend on the town and literally convert it into a Medieval village. There is spectacle and fun, stage shows and sword play, eating and drinking in food halls based on bygone times, thrilling theatre and fireworks to light up the imagination. So if you are lucky enough to be holidaying with Catalan Ways in July, you simply have to visit Tortosa and revel in the spectacle and drama of this unique event. On a less dramatic note, Tortosa is the capital of the delta, a mid-sized town on the Ebro river. It is of striking beauty, dominated as it is by the Parador or old castle that overlooks the town and the river. It has a wonderful park with a huge avenue of Maple trees and of course, the customary playground. The magnificently restored old style food market is a throw-back in time where the scent of seasonal fruits and olives, traditional meats and strong coffee blend in the air. It is open in the mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is well worth a visit as it has not changed in character since the turn of the last century. A visit to the Parador hotel is also recommended as it offers splendid panoramic views of the city, the Ebro and the ‘Els Ports’ mountain range which rise from the great floodplain in the distance. Have a walk around the garden and battlements, order a coffee in the Parador bar and soak in a different world.

Then just an hour and a half away is Barcelona, the capital of Catalunya, one of the most avant garde cultural and artistic centres in Spain. You can get the train early in the morning from L'Ampolla and in less than an hour and a half, be in the centre of this metropolis; there you can discover the brilliantly idiosyncratic art and architecture of Antoni Gaudi as you stroll through Parc Guell, an urban oasis dotted with whimsical buildings and colourful mosaic sculptures of creatures straight out of Alice in Wonderland. Take a break from shopping in the L'Eixample neighborhood and visit Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, Gaudi-designed apartment buildings whose nautilus-spiral staircases and seashell-inspired exteriors suggest that Captain Nemo was the architect. And you can’t visit Barcelona without going to La Sagrada Familia, the unfinished Gaudi cathedral whose 300-foot ‘Smartie’ spires give the city skyline a surreal birthday cake look. And whether you're rambling among the buskers and artists of La Rambla (where some of the street lamps overhead bear Gaudi’s flamboyant stamp) or tucking into tapas in the shadow of the great cathedral, you'll realize that in Barcelona, strange and wonderful things are everywhere. It is just one of those cities that never ceases to surprise. It truly does make for a wonderful day excursion away from the beach and the Mediterranean.

Wake up to amazing views in the morning!
