Description (written by the owner)

Finca, 1 bedroom (sleeps 2), 1 bathroom in Haria, Lanzarote.

Finca Casita Susi, Haria, Lanzarote, a hidden jewel for stressed souls. Winner of Tripadvisor certificate of excellence 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and ´Hall of Fame´.

Finca, one bedroom, (sleeps 2), 1 bathroom, shared private pool, car hire recommended.

Finca Casita Susi is a deceptively large semi-studio villa which sits adjacent to Finca Casita Carmelo. It consists of a beautiful bedroom with large comfortable double bed with small dining/breakfast table and chairs. From here one accesses the delightful, separate, sunny, well-equipped kitchen with views to the pool. It has fridge/freezer, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, gas hob and an ample supply of kitchen utensils.

Further on from the kitchen is the full shower room with Cesar Manrique-inspired shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin decorated in exciting flamenco colours, truly reflecting the Spanish personality. The villa is peaceful, secluded, beautifully decorated with respect for the natural beauty of Lanzarote. Gentle washes on the walls blend into the exquisite charm of this 250-year-old Canarian villa.

The lighting too is considered and creates an ambiance of relaxed contemplation. An ideal corner of the world for sitting back and enjoying the knowledge that back home, the world is going crazy but here, there´s nothing except the odd donkey braying and the friendly lizards lazing on the terrace. Should you want to keep in touch with the outside world, there is a strong WiFi signal so watching European stations on your laptop is as easy as. So, if you must, you can check your stocks and shares before retiring or opening another bottle of delicious Lanzarote wine.

The bedroom terrace doors lead directly onto the spacious sun-lounging area directly overlooking the swimming pool (shared with Finca Casita Carmelo), where, for much of the year, dinner or a pre-prandial sherry can be enjoyed whilst admiring the brilliant, ever-changing sunsets.

A welcome pack is supplied consisting of wine, milk, water, juice, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. Any special requests, goat´s cheese, ham, fruit, bread etc. can be easily accommodated.

It is important to note that winters can be a bit chilly here despite many agents claiming otherwise. So, from November through till May, it´s wise to have some warm clothing for mornings and evenings. The midday sun though is always very hot and adequate precautions must be taken. All linen is supplied plus beach towels. The owners live on site in the main villa so, if any queries or problems occur, they can be answered/solved immediately. They are also very happy to offer tips and information to ensure (as much as possible) your holiday never misses a beat and that your time spent in Lanzarote a is really special event.

Clean and exceptionally well equiped

We received a friendly welcome from the owners who were there if you needed anything but did not intrude otherwise. We cannot fault the accommodation at all. Clean and exceptionally well equiped with a lot of attention to detail. We also appreciated the fact that a couple of restaurants were within walking distance. If you wish to be away from the busy touristy area this authentic village is ideal.

Excellent hosts, spotless accommodation, quiet village location with a nearby restaurant. Well designed pool area. Very relaxing and away from the busy built up tourist areas. Some interesting local attractions.

Quiet place, the perfect spot to relax

Quiet place, the perfect spot to relax from the busy every day life. The studio is not far from the top sights and is a good starting point for hiking. There are supermarkets in the village Haria. By car many nice restaurants can be reached within 10 minutes. Also Haria has a few restaurants. The hosts are very friendly and one is well looked after. The studio is in the typical Lanzarote style and is well equipped. Sitting on the terrace one has a beautiful view on the pool and the nice surrounding. In the evening the garden is beautifully illuminated.

The most delightful place to spend your holiday

I had read the reviews before going to susi and they were all so good i thought there must be something negative ! but no it really is the most delightful place to spend your well earned break from the frenetic pace of life in GB ! The accomodation itself has everything covered and the bed is soooo comfy. The kitchen has every cooking tool required ! The village of Haria itself is quiet and very pretty and untouched by tourism the countryside around is great for walks. We had never been to Lanzarote before so 'did' the attractions which were all impressive, we were blown away by the Timanfaya National Park a must. We had a car which was arranged for us by Brendan prior to going, not very pretty to look at ( according to my husband!) , but i do believe the bus service is fairly reliable. The village has some good eating/ drinking establishments . The Bar Verde a stroll away has a sweet landlord (sorry to call you that Stewart !) with great tapas . The restaurant which overlooks the farmland and palm groves The Meson de la Fronta has a lovely terrace area and the food is very good. We also went to a few of the 'local' bars which were great fun and very welcoming. We found the price of food and drink eating out very reasonable as were the supermarkets . The Haria area still has the feel of authenticity about it we did take a drive down to the resort areas and were so pleased we didnt stay there ! The owners of carmelo and susi Brendan and Terri are charming and helpful. They live next door but he way the Finca is set out the three separate accomodations are very private and you hear nothing from your neighbours ! They have a charming and entertaining son theo who we led astray (not really !) at the local bar who also entertained us with his guitar one evening which has led me to pick up mine and practice after 35 years !!!! We will return.

a fantastic place, peaceful, relaxing

What a find last minute booking but what a fantastic place, peaceful, relaxing. Brendan, Terri and son Theo(the reluctant gardener)and Ozzie the dog are excellant hosts very knowledgable about the island and the surrounding areas, they all made us feel very welcome during our short stay. We will definately be back soon and will 'reluctantly' recommend to our friends but would prefer to keep it our secret hideaway.
Owner comment
Dear Susan and Brian, the family misses you! Theo and Ozzie are our prime assets, they both want to come and live with you, but……………………..NO WAY! Look forward to seeing you both again, best wishes, Brendan and Terrie
