The idyllic and detached mountain chalet lies away from hustle and bustle and traffic noise at around 1650 metres above sea level and is nestled into wonderful mountain meadows and green forests. The house was built in 1997 and renovated in 2015.
The sunny terrace on the ground floor provides a large, rustic bench with a table and a charcoal grill. Let yourself be woken up in the morning by the rising sun and the cow bells. The awakening of nature is a spectacle and a sound experience for the body, mind and soul. There are two balconies by the bedrooms, from which you can also enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the mountains and meadows. A new Finnish block sauna with wood stove also invites you to relax. It is about 50 metres away by a little pond, with relaxation loungers. This little wellness area is only used by chalet guests. There is a fully enclosed garden with a campfire area and tree trunks, and you can park your car on one of the two private and free spaces. Pets are not allowed.
The house of around 80m² has a large living and dining room on the ground floor with two sofas, an armchair, a coffee table, an old UKW radio, as well as a spacious corner bench with a dining table. The open kitchen-diner is equipped with a fridge and a wood-burning stove with an oven. The lower floor has a large bathroom with a bath, toilet and washbasin. There are two bedrooms on the upper floor, each furnished with a double bed (200cm wide), a single bed (90 cm wide) and bed linen for up to six people. The water is heated in the bathroom with a wood-fired stove. The sun produces electricity with a photovoltaic system (6m²). There is no Internet connection.
You can also experience great activities at Klippitztörl. The summer toboggan run and the climbing trail about 5km away for children and adults will get your adrenaline going. There is a good range of gastronomy at Klippitztörl: homemade dishes, as well as more exclusive menus from the region. There are also various hiking options for experiencing nature. It is worth visiting the thermal baths (ca. 20km), Hochosterwitz Castle (ca. 40km), the Knappenberg visitors’ mine (ca. 18km), or the lake Längsee (ca. 37km). There are good shopping facilities in Bad St. Leonhard (17km) or Wolfsberg (ca.25km), where a farmers’ market is held by the pond every Friday morning.
Our philosophy of a mountain chalet holiday is getting away from stressful everyday life, to be bound only to the other guests at the chalet, and to avoid social networks and TV during your stay. Take time out for yourself and perceive the day consciously from sunrise to sunset, find time for conversations and games and to live in harmony with nature (e.g. hiking on the beautiful, rounded mountains or gathering berries and mushrooms together). Lie down on the meadow, breathe in the fragrance of grasses and herbs, watch the clouds scudding across the sky and let your thoughts roam free, or watch a storm cloud build up and then release itself. Admire the rays of sunshine between the clouds and watch the mountain birds drifting in the wind. Follow the ants on their routes to their ant hills. In the evening, you can listen to the twittering of birds and the chirping of crickets as you sit by the campfire, watch bats on their nightly forays and perhaps even glimpse a chamois, a deer or a hare. The many little rivulets around the chalet invite the whole family to play and explore by the water. There is minimal Internet reception at the chalet, but good mobile reception.
