-- Driving to a rented house is the safest way to enjoy a holiday this year.
-- Peniscola is only 4 hours drive from the border with France.
-- Peniscola is in an area which has had a very low incidence of Covid-19 infection.
-- At Las Marinas you will have a remote controller for the entrance gate. You can drive your car right up to the door, and walk into the house through your own private entrance. There are no shared paths, stairs, elevators, or concourses.
-- You can walk or cycle into the natural park where you will see very few other people, or you can walk into the town in 15 minutes or so to visit the bars and restaurants.
-- The town has a large Mercadona supermarket with a large car park, wide aisles, and good safety procedures.
In addition, we will implement the following safety procedures;
-- Meet and Greet will not be offered this year. You will collect your keys from the office of our managers.
-- There will be no same-day changovers this year. The house will be empty for at least 24 hours between bookings to allow for extra cleaning, and to minimise contact.
-- Handwash soap and surface cleaning spray is provided inside the house, along with a sealed pack of brand new cleaning materials (cloth, sponge, toilet brush etc.).
-- Our washing machine is available for extra washing of clothing and towels.
-- Our shared pool is usually very quiet, and you may have it to yourself at times. However, we will be implementing additional safety measures.
-- Before your stay we will send you information regarding the current situation in this region, and what rules you will be expected to comply with during your stay.

Las Marinas is a group of 23 houses 100 metres from the sea and 600 metres from the south beach of Peniscola. It has great sea views, and a shared pool with a childrens section. The house has a built in garage, a garden with patio and barbecue, and a large south-facing terrace overlooking the bay.
All the accommodation is currently on the first floor and consists of the living space with open plan kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Large glass doors lead out to the 6m x 3m terrace. There is a large circular dining table and four sun loungers. The terrace is partly covered, and can be fully covered by extending the full width awning.
The living area includes a sofa and coffee table, and is equipped with TV and DVD /CD player. The TV options include terrestrial Spanish channels, Hispasat satellite, or internet TV with all the main UK channels. You can also log into your own Spotify, Netflix or Amazon Prime account. It is possible to connect your MP3 player or mobile phone for playing your own music, or you can see if any of our CD's or DVD's are to your taste. There is a small desk with a chair, ideal for your laptop computer, which you can connect to our own private free Wi-Fi system (300 megabit fibre), along with your mobile phones and other devices. Air conditioning is fitted in the living area which can also be used for heating in the cooler months.
The kitchen includes a dishwasher, an oven/grill and electric hob, a microwave oven, a toaster and an electric kettle, a coffee percolator, and a good sized fridge/freezer. The large bathroom includes a bidet, a bath with shower and glass screen, and plenty of space for your toiletries.
The larger bedroom has a super-king size bed with luxury pocket-sprung mattress. The smaller bedroom has two single beds. Both rooms have large fitted wardrobes. Reading lamps and a hair-dryer are provided. There is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, but all rooms have ceiling fans and there is a large portable standing fan, which help to spread the cool air around. The windows have fly screens fitted to allow cool air in but keep insects out.
The garage is fitted with a wash sink and a washing machine, and there is an iron and ironing board provided. There is a collection of bicycles in the garage that belongs to the owner. If you choose to use them it is your decision. Neither the owners nor the managers accept any responsibility for any accident or injury caused by the use of these bicycles.
Just a 10 minute walk (600 metres) from the house will take you to the southern edge of Peniscola where the restaurants and the sandy beach start. If the walk is too much then there is an regular bus service along the coast road (June to September).
Peniscola is a traditional Spanish seaside town with a huge choice of bars and restaurants, and plenty of shops, including supermarkets. It caters very much for family holidays, and is not for the "beer and nightclub" crowd. It has extensive clean beaches offering the usual attractions such as watersports and play areas.
There is a working fishing fleet and it's great to visit the harbour in the late afternoon when it returns. You can watch them land their catches, and then buy some of the seafood from the small shop near the harbour gate. The old part of Peniscola is known as the "City in the sea" and is packed with narrow cobbled streets with many unique shops and bars. At the top of the town there is a working lighthouse and a very important medieval castle.
If the town or the tourist beaches are too busy for you, then go in the opposite direction towards the Sierra D'Irta Natural Park. There is a coast path that starts just 15 minutes walk along the road and gives access to 15 Kilometres of completely undeveloped coastline. There are small quiet beaches and cliffs, and a hinterland of mountains that contain old castles, towers and hermitas, and a network of paths connecting them. Whilst the area is best explored on foot or mountain bike, you can drive the coast path but it is not surfaced and is quite rough in places.
