Local people, who can appreciate what Cretan cuisine has to offer, often choose the taverns in Agioi Pantes (just 1.5 km away), Tzitzifes (1.5 km away) and Melidoni (2 km away) for their excellent food.
If you go as far as Kalyves (9 km), there is a nice sandy beach and Vrysses (4km) you will find big supermarkets where you can buy anything you like.
You'll find friendly residents who always look to invite you for coffee or raki as you pass from their village. Traditional Villa Pemonia has a big garden with a lawn around the swimming pool.
You will find some sunbeds with umbrellas to relax and enjoy the sun and outdoors furniture such as a dining table with chairs where you can sit and enjoy the sunset while drinking your wine.
In the villa, there is a Private kitchen, dining and living space, a satellite TV where you can watch your favourite movies from NETFLIX, and a bathroom with a bathtub.
Also, there are 2 bedrooms with double beds and 1 bedroom with two single beds, and air conditioning in all the bedrooms, one of them has a satellite tv as well.
The accommodation provides free linen, towels, Wi-Fi free, private parking in the property, a washing machine, an iron with ironing board, a hairdryer, a refrigerator, a kitchen, a microwave, an electric kettle, a sandwich maker, a filter coffee machine, a clothes rack. The Pemonia is built on the foot of the "Lefka Ori" mountain range and operates a fairly fertile valley with vineyards and olive trees.
It is a traditional settlement with a strong Cretan spirit.
The traditional architecture is preserved in excellent condition.
An important Byzantine church of Saint George, which has been recently renovated, is still preserved, and all indications suggest that it was inhabited since ancient times and was a rich area.
The name of the village in the late Venetian period was POMOGNA BAROZZI, which means field and mansion house of the BAROZZI family.
The Barozzi family dominated the surrounding area and had plenty of power.
When the area was occupied by the Turks back in 1645 the name changed in Pomona and after many years became Pemonia.
Every year on 15th August there is the Holy spirit celebration which is the most interesting Cretan festival that happens in Pemonia.
It's really nice to make a visit that day.
