The enchanting municipality of Ühlingen-Birkendorf is close to Switzerland and offers fantastic natural surroundings and a unique Alpine panorama, which really comes into its own when the weather is fine. The eight idyllic villages that belong to the municipality are located in the Schwarza, Mettma, Schlücht and Steina valleys - in a region known for its sunny, almost fog-free location.

The small animal enclosure in the Tannenmühle is particularly popular with younger guests.
If you're interested in culture, you shouldn't miss the Riedern am Wald monastery, where thrilling open-air theatre plays take place regularly.
