Masia Casa Nova, Sitges
Overlooking a natural park in the Peñedes wine region of Catalonia, this bathroom is ultra stylish in its simplicity. Set within a Masia, a traditional Catalan rural villa, the bathroom has been modelled from polished cement, which has a distinct tone running through it. After construction, the cement was waxed to get the polished effect. Guests have a wonderful view of the natural park from the bath. Perfect to relax with a nice glass of local cava!
Casa del Piloto, Santiago de Compostela
Casa del Piloto's bathroom was originally the old kitchen. An enormous space, which featured a large oven space, now wonderfully transformed into a little bath alcove. The style was inspired by the old arched antique stores, encountered by the owners during several visits to Brussels. The space needed a degree of partitioning, whilst still trying to keep an ‘open’ feel. So archways were designed to create a very private bath space and entrance to the shower room, whilst still maintaining the feel of amplitude.
Home-made mirrors, cement polished floor and bathroom lights on dimmers.

Stylish beachfront villa, Marbella
Dazzling minimalism! This bathroom is bathed in natural light with heavenly views to the gardens and Mediterranean Sea. The owner of this super luxury villa on Marbella’s Golden Mile had a very specific vision for the property: a cool, minimalistic design, created with natural materials. The floors are made from pure white sandstone, all fabrics are 100% linen and the colour scheme throughout consists of pale blues and creams. The windows in the bathroom have automatic blinds for privacy at the touch of the button; although I love the idea of sinking into this deep bath and enjoying the view to the Mediterranean. The property was designed and constructed by renowned local architect Carlos Lamas and the interior design is by Nheza Kanouni, a highly talented Morrocan designer.

Ocean penthouse, Corralejo
Pure opulence is the term that springs to mind to describe this bathroom, set in a luxurious, beachside penthouse in the Corralejo resort on Fuerteventura. No expense has been spared to create an exclusive and very chic holiday home. The bathroom is off-the-scale. A round whirlpool bath made for two and huge separate hydro-massage shower make daily bathing far from routine. The decor has been carefully designed to create a sumptuous ambience fit for a king!

Masia La Costa, Figueras
This apartment is described as an oasis to relax in and I don’t doubt that you would feel completely relaxed and at home here. Two apartments have been converted within a traditional Catalan Masia on the Costa Brava. The interior design through both is eclectic, combining a touch of 1940s glamour with contemporary fixtures and fittings. The space gives off an air of warmth and happiness. All of the bathrooms in this property are special, but the winner was this divine spa/bathroom, which is open to guests staying in both the apartments. Purple wouldn’t generally be a colour associated with bathroom design and in fact the interior designers weren’t convinced when the owner suggested it for the colour scheme. But the mellow purple tone, inspired by a waiting lounge in Dubai airport, gives the space a warm and luscious feel! Slip into the depths of the beautiful sunken bath or relax in the sauna before you dress for dinner and a game of pool in the private bar.

Villa Foixarda, Tarragona City
Every room in this contemporary villa affords the most spectacular views to the Tamarit Bay and Mediterranean, and the view from the main suite bathroom doesn’t let you down. The cliff-top property has been masterfully designed to make use of its location. Following the design of the rest of the house, the bathroom is simple and sleek. But it’s the view which got this bathroom one of the highest votes. The spectacular sunsets are highly recommended, perfect for a long soak at the end of the day.
