Infographic: Spain's tourist figures set a record in August 2013

This month we reported on the positive increase in summer holiday rentals enquiries in Spain, with a 17.8% increase year-on-year. Now it seems Spanish tourism in general has enjoyed a record summer. According to Spain’s Institute of Tourism Statistics IET, over 8.3 million foreign tourists visited our shores during August 2013, a 7.1% growth on last year.

The rise is largely thanks to a 9% increase in French tourists and the growing Russian market, which has seen a 30% year-on-year increase from January-August 2013 (1.1 million visitors). Great Britain is still the predominant market for Spanish tourism with over 10 million British tourists visiting Spain so far this year.

As a holiday home owner it’s important to stay on top of these statistics. If you haven’t already translated your holiday advertisment into multi-languages it’s a good time to do it.
