Also close by is Tamariu, Aiguablava, Calella de Palafrugell, and Llafranc. All with waterfront restaurants and shops.. The enchanting hillside town of Begur has many fine Catalan restaurants, bars, cafes and two lively squares. The coastal villages of Sa Riera, Tamariu, Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell are within 10-15minutes drive, as are the wonderful inland medieval villages of Peratallada and Pals. The ancient town of Girona is 45mins drive and if you crave city life, Barcelona is 1.5hours drive or you can take the train from nearby Flaca to both of these fascinating cities. Distance-times are approximate. DESCRIPTION Accommodation is for 4 people with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Spacious living area with covered terrace and separate kitchen. Casa Romero is in a quiet road and has offroad parking for one car. The house enjoys privacy with a gated entrance and a few steps up to the garden level. The house enjoys the sun all day with natural shaded areas and has views of the hillside castle town of Begur. The swimming pool has surrounding terrace and the house is surrounded by lawn and exotic plants. Next to the dining terrace is a built in bbq. Living room Comfortably furnished with sofas and occasional furniture and including dining table and chairs for 6 people. Sat.tv [freeview], cd player, woodburnning stove. From the living room is a covered terrace with seating area. In addition an outdoor dining terrace with views of Begur has dining table and 6 chairs. Bedrooms There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Each bedroom has fitted wardrobes and bedside furniture. The kitchen is well equipped and has washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc.

Zoo- 10mins drive Golf- many golf courses within 10-20 mins drive. The house manual gives details of all the courses in the local vicinity. Sailing- 10mins drive. There is a sailing club at Sa Riera and kayaks and pedallos for hire. Kayaks also at Calella. Cultural activities- all over the region: Figueres- Dalis museum- 40mins drive Medieval towns- 15-20 mins drive- Peratallada- a must to visit. Restaurants- too numerous to mention. Begur has a very good choice as do the coastal villages. The house manual has previous guests comments on local restaurants. Shops- an interesting selection of very good shops selling clothes, jewellery, etc. Food- excellent speciality shops in Begur for fish and meat plus very good supermarkets. Cycling- bykes can be hired in Palafrugell Walking- this is wonderful walking country, especially out of season when it is not so hot. The tourist office has a map showing popular walks. Skiing- within 3 hours you can be on the slopes in Andorra. Night life- plenty if you want it but there is not a string of discos here. Mainly late night cellar bars with music, some with dancing. There is a club in Begur and one just outside, not far from the villa but well away from everything and everyone! The main square has entertainment in the high season with a mixture of traditional and modern music and dancing. Wonderful to just sit and watch!
