The historic city of Segovia is easy to reach from Madrid. Here you can experience a hot air balloon flight over the UNESCO-listed medieval city. A must-see when in Madrid is the famous flamenco dance. Many places showcase this traditional dance, and shows that often are sold out. It's a bit hit and something you can't afford to miss. Puerta del Sol is a historical landmark that hold the famous statue of the bear and the strawberry tree, Madrid's official symbol. This plaza is well worth a visit. Other recommended places to visit in the capital are the royal palace, the famous Gran Via and the Retiro park.

Toledo is one of the nicest destinations to visit close to Madrid. This amazing day trip destination is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that you can't miss when you're staying in the Madrid Region. Some highlights of the city are Toledo's historic Synagogue, El Greco's paintings, and the cathedral.

Head to the capital for a day filled with culture and visit the world-famous Prado museum. Here you can enjoy beautiful paintings and statues by some of the most prolific Spanish painters like Goya and Velázquez. The museum also exhibits works from international masters like Bosch, Rubens and Raphael.
