On the seafront between Perpignan and Barcelona, far from the tourist bustle, Calella is a small fishing village, bordered by 5 coves and beaches, offering a Spanish way of life, giving pride of place to the restoration, the walk and the swimming. VentdeMar is a little high up in a peaceful area surrounded by pine trees and nice neighbors. The beaches and the village are reached in ten minutes on foot by paths and steps: the descent is easy, the climb a little more sporty. The house is open to a wooded enclosed garden, several levels, several regional terracotta terraces, offering various spaces for meals and rest according to the sunshine. The swimming pool, heated in the inter-seasons, perfectly complements it. A large living room very bright allows joyful moments of conviviality with family or friends. As a child, when I was coming from Paris to spend my two months of summer holidays in Calella (my mother is from this village), I felt like I was in paradise. Leaving this place was always a wrench. Today I live there all year round (when I'm not travelling...which I often do) and I still have that privileged feeling of being, in this house, in paradise. In fact, on the heights of Calella de Palafrugell, one of the most beautiful seaside villages, is located, in a small dead-end street (therefore very quiet), the villa ENTRE CIEL ET MER, a house built in 1978 by my parents on the highest hill of Calella's seaside (100 m above sea level). With a surface area of 180 M2, it was built on two floors and completely renovated in 2017 and 2018. The villa has the peculiarity and the unique chance to have a double view: on the sea but also on the green countryside with impressive sunsets. During its renovation, I wished to highlight the extraordinary potential of this house, choosing to enlarge the windows and to put only one pane of glass per window, making each one a living tableau, changing according to the time of day and the mood of the weather. I also chose not to install the air conditioning because it has a detrimental impact on health but also on the environment because it is responsible for the increase in greenhouse gases. The spacious, relaxing, and very bright Villa Solemar is located on the heights of Calella, in a very quiet residential area, overlooking the magnificent El Golfet beach and close to Cap Roig (festival and botanical garden). Its rooms are air-conditioned, and the salt-water pool is heated seasonally. Its large bay windows and two terraces all offer impressive views of the sea, the bay and its lush vegetation, and the hill of Llafranc (a small neighboring fishing village) and its lighthouse. You can admire the magnificent sunrises and red moons, the lights of Llafranc hill and its lighthouse, the life of the boats on the water, and, in the evening, the cruise ship dance.
