Travellers and activities
What makes Mojacar different from other Spanish coastal towns is its refusal to bend to the pressures of over tourism, remaining stubbornly true to its century's old roots. You won't find any high risers here. What you will find, however, are lively bars, quirky shops, art galleries, tattoo parlours, glorious flamenco dancing and tapas galore. Mojacar is also a great starting point for a road trip or 1 day excursion to Alhambra, a 3-hour drive away. This incredible journey to one of Andalucia's most treasured sites may be the highlight of your trip.
Mojacar Playa for SeafarersFor all of Mojacar's small town glory, it particularly caters to outdoorsy travellers who love to be in the water. Sea kayaking to all the coves. Go to Samoa Surf to hire a kayak and snorkelling gear, if you are so inclined. The water is brilliantly crystal clear and the coves are numerous along the jagged coastline. All day tours are available to help you find the most remote of Mojacar's beaches. However, you can also set out by yourself. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sun protection.
Mojacar is known for being Spain's most beautiful white village, in Spanish "pueblo blanco".
