The typical whitewashed Andalusian village of Comares is located in the province of Malaga, nestled within a majestic mountain landscape; it provides the perfect relaxing getaway. Comares is perched on a hill 740 metres above sea level, with spectacular views to the surrounding countryside and down to the coast. The town itself dates back to the Roman age, but as with many Andalusian villages, it has a distinctly Moorish feel. Comares has its own Moorish fortress, medieval arches and fine examples of 16th Mudejar architecture. Comares is situated just 15 kilometres from the coast, along the Route of the Raisin.
