Dinopetra - Dinosaur exhibition in Torremolinos, Malaga

Throughout the months of July, August and September the dinosaur and palaeontology exhibition is on display in the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Torremolinos (Málaga).

An authentic Jurassic park experience

The hands-on display promises to have all family members in awe.

There are over 50 life size exhibits - some up to 12m in height, mechanical dinosaurs that come to life when you approach them, documentaries, all providing an authentic interactive journey back to the age of the dinosaurs.

For the younger members of the family, there are games and a chance to become a palaeontologist for a day by uncovering fossils in a huge sandpit.

They’ll also be able to see the largest shark jaw ever found, to touch a ‘real’ star in the shape of an original meteorite that was discovered in Argentina and to see a life size replica of the dinosaur with the longest neck in the world.

The fun begins in the car park with a 12 metre tall brachiosaurus that will welcome you upon arrival.

The display is spread over 2100m2 and is divided into four sections: “The beginnings of life,” “'Paleontología - the search for fossils,” “The world of dinosaurs,” and “The end of the dinosaur era.”

Admission prices - €7 for adults and €5 for children and groups.

Opening times - Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 8.00pm. Weekends 11.00am to 8.00pm.

Verdict: a lowly, 4/10 - if you don't speak and read fluent Spanish, you'll be hard pressed to understand anything. All the signs, the video and all the displays are all in Spanish, with no translations available. For younger members of the family (or the hardcore dinosaur fans), its worthwhile, otherwise forget it. The exhibition felt badly organised and hardly worth the entrance fee.
