CITY BREAK COST INDEX - AUTUMN/WINTER 2017

The Spain-Holiday.com City Break Cost Index examines the Top 10 most popular Spanish cities as short break destinations in terms of costs for tourists.

City trips are the fastest growing holiday market segment and now represent 26% of all holidays.

The report evaluates typical city break costs including accommodation, airport transfer, eating out and typical local experiences and activities.

The key findings of the report are:

  • In 8 out of 10 cities, it is 20-36% cheaper to stay in a rented apartment than a hotel.
  • Four of the top five cheapest cities located in Andalusia - Jerez, Malaga, Granada and Seville.
  • Jerez offers the overall best value for a weekend break.
  • Barcelona, Palma and Madrid are the most expensive destinations for a city break in Spain.
