The Spain-Holiday.com Travel Trends Report: Summer Spending Report 2019 looks at the average price of everyday holiday purchases in the top 15 summer holiday destinations in Spain.

Key findings include:

  • The overall best value destination is Lanzarote where a week’s car rental costs €126, a two-course lunch for two €24 and entrance fees to a family-friendly attraction costs an average of €18.
  • The Canary Islands are, in general, great value for a holiday, with Lanzarote (1st), Gran Canaria (2nd) and Tenerife (4th) all in Top Five Best Value Destinations.
  • The Costa Dorada is the most expensive holiday destination in 2019.
  • Costa Blanca is the best value destination on mainland Spain.
  • A taxi for a family of four from Reus Airport on the Costa Dorada is €22 cheaper than taking the bus.
  • A family of four staying on the Costa Blanca can hire a car for less than the return price of the bus from Alicante airport.
  • Spain is good value for family-friendly activities with a day out at a water park or theme park costing less than €75 for a family of four in Costa de Almería, Ibiza, Costa Blanca, Costa Cálida, Gran Canaria, Costa del Azahar, Costa de la Luz, Costa Tropical and Costa del Sol.
