You dump your suitcases on the floor and step out onto the terrace to check out the view, the swimming pool, or just to marvel at the fine weather. It’s probably the first thing most of us do when we arrive out our holiday accommodation.
A view to inspire, El Gastor, Cádiz
This rural cottage is situated in one of the most spectacular natural regions in Spain, the Grazalema Natural Park. The breathtaking outlook from the terrace and picnic spot makes outdoor dining here an extra special experience. Imagine sipping a glass of chilled local fino, whilst watching the sunset over the lake and mountains. Life doesn’t get much better than this!

Villa La Torre, La Herradura, Granada
And then on the flipside… from cool mountain retreat, to Mediterranean magnificence. This super cool villa is situated in the gorgeous village of La Herradura on the Costa Tropical. Once again the views are to die for, but this time the azul (Spanish Blue) of the Mediterranean Sea stretches as far as the eye can see. You’ll need your sunglasses on for breakfast on this terrace, or just stretch out on a sunbed and while away the day with the sound of the waves lapping beneath you...

Villa Valenti, Sitges
Have you ever seen a more ‘chilled out’ chill-out zone than this adorable nook? The 18th century mansion, set within the Peñedes wine region in Catalonia, is exquisite in every way. The owners have restored the property, capturing its former glory and combining this with all the modern comforts a guest could wish for. If you can drag yourself away from the chill out zone, you’ll find a beautiful courtyard perfect for al fresco dining. A professional chef is on hand, so you won’t have to lift a finger. Just chill out until dinner is served!

Overlooking the best beach in Andalucía!
This picturesque terrace overlooks the Playa de Maro in Nerja, voted the best beach in Andalucía and the second best beach in Spain by Antena 3 television channel. It’s one of my personal favourites. The terrace is so laidback, you can almost feel the stress melting away. Definitely one for those looking for a secluded beach retreat with a chilled out vibe.

Villa Gaviota, Moirara
Looking out over the infinity pool to cloudless blue skies and the Mediterranean Sea. A glass of cava in hand. What more could you need from a holiday rental? Not much. But the Villa Gaviota has everything close to hand, just in case you need to stock up on suntan lotion, cava or croissants.

Villa Marrakech, Sitges
This traditional Catalan country house is set in the hills overlooking Sitges and the Mediterranean. The home was built using local stone in a traditional construction style, with the interior combining Moroccan and provincial decor to create a masterpiece in simple luxury. The open-plan living area leads out to this rather charming terrace area, where again the Moroccan influence lends a certain exotic twist. Barbecues will never be the same again!
