Lying beneath the impressive remains of the old arab castle (Castillo San Miguel) and round the corner from the Cave of the Seven Palaces (Archaeological museum, Cueva Siete Palacios) and the Majuelo botanical gardens. Within minutes you are down into the Plaza De Constitucion (Town Hall Square) with the buzz of the many bars, restaurants, and the eclectic shops and boutiques that lay around. The fabulous Playa Del Mar beach is a short 5-10 min walk and the San Cristobel beach is 10-15 minutes walk. On the beach fronts lie many bars and nightclubs open until the early hours of the morning!!!

There are numerous local festivals and fiestas at all times of the year which often last for days and create a wonderful carnival atmosphere. The Municipal market offering fresh fruit, meat, fish and plants is equally close. The Bus Station is only a 10 min walk offers an excellent and cheap service to surrounding areas including the bustling town of Motril.
One minute from the property you will find the local corner shop and a bakery. Highly recommended and a stones throw away from the house is the highly reputed La Corrala bar and gourmet restaurant.
Inland from Almunecar lies the Alpujarra national park approx 50 minute drive and the stunning Alhambra Palace in Granada. The Sierra Nevada offers excellent skiing facilites and is only approx 90 mins drive. Not to missed is the Peña Escrita Wildlife Park less than an hours drive, where you will see fabulous wild animals set in a natural habitat.
Almunecar is unspoilt and the Old Town remains truly Spanish in character.
Recent road improvements now mean it is hardly more than an hours drive from Malaga or Granada airports.
Please note due to the cobbled hill access this property is not suitable for the infirm or disabled. There is no immediate parking outside the house, however there is ample parking within walking distance.
