Our house is a rural house with 2 floors. On the ground floor there is the living room and the kitchen separated by an American bar, and on the upper floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The house has capacity for 4 adults and also has a crib for babies. We also rent the house for 2 people. It is a typical Alpujarra construction, with chestnut wooden beams and all the carpentry both exterior and interior is made of solid wood. The house is fully equipped: hob, fridge, washing machine, tv, kitchen menage ..... The heating is electric and has a fireplace on the ground floor for which we give a box of firewood per stay. The house is within the urban area, you can walk to all parts of the town. The street where we are is wide and has easy parking. Bubión, our town, is located in the center of the Barranco de Poqueira. Together with Capileira and Pampaneira, they form the historic artistic ensemble of the Barranco de Poqueira. A charming cottage with many wonderful Moorish features including traditional flat stone ceilings and a unique bathroom which is a converted Moorish bread oven. The bathroom has both a shower and bath. There is a fireplace and 2 sofas in the sitting room with the kitchen at the far end with gas oven, fridge etc. There is also a small dining table and seats for 4 people. There are 2 bedrooms, one with 2 single beds and the other with a double bed. This bedroom also has its own mini terrace, totally private and only with access from the bedroom. This cortijo is all on one floor although there are steps to enter and to the bathroom and bedrooms. The thick walls of this cortijo keep it beautifully cool in the summer months. This is one of three traditional Moorish cottages located on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada of Las Alupujarra in the heart of a National Park. The area has been designated an area of natural beauty by UNESCO. Guests at the three cottages have exclusive use of the 11x6m luxurious swimming pool, the perfect place to relax in the heat of the day. There are shaded areas by the pool as well as sun beds and hammocks for relaxing. Walkers can enjoy free access to the National Park in all directions from the Cortijos (cottages). The Cortijos are located in isolation from each other in 36 acres of land including many fruit trees and woodland, each with its own private terrace. The cottages can be rented individually or all 3 together depending on numbers. The gardens have a substantial grassed area as well as an organic vegetable garden, a vineyard, countless fruit and nut trees and beautiful ancient chestnut trees.
