The Canary Islands are Britain’s favourite winter destination

UK travel association ABTA revealed the top winter sun destinations in their winter travel trends report 2013 and the Canary Islands is out on top!

At Spain-holiday.com we can appreciate the wonderful climate and ambience Spain has to offer at Christmas and it seems we not the only ones, as ABTA surveyed over 2000 British holidaymakers who agreed that the Canary Islands was their number one winter sun destination.

Close to 20% of those surveyed were planning a winter holiday, whilst one in five were undecided. Winter sun is still the preferred holiday choice, with two in five respondents planning a winter sun holiday. Winter sun is most popular with 55-64 year olds.

Both City Breaks and Ski Holidays increased in popularity this year. City breaks were most popular with under 35 year olds and ski and snowboarding holidays seem to be the young travellers choice, with 44% of 16-24 year olds heading for the slopes for their winter fun.
