The Glass House began life long ago as a simple one-room 'nave de aperos' - an agricultural building used by local shepherds to sleep in while their flocks of goats grazed the meadows on the mountainside. We took it on in 2006, and gradually extended and transformed it into what you see today - a modern villa in a minimalist style with 3 ensuite bedrooms and a huge 12m swimming pool. We put in as much glass as possible - 15m of sliding doors on the south and west facades, leading onto expansive open sun terraces so that the amazing views to the Sierra Lugar and Mediterranean can be enjoyed from inside as well as outside the house. In fact, every design decision was informed by the views and maintaining a sense of uncluttered space: the terrace handrail is frameless tempered glass; almost everything is white or muted woods and greys - polished cement on the floors and walls, the terraces, the furnishings... even the pool is raised a few feet above ground level at one end to make sure there are as few visual interruptions as possible. Cooler evenings are dealt with by under-floor heating - no distracting radiators! The Los Pérez Andalusian farmhouse is situated in the municipality of Carataunas, in an area known as "El Padre Eterno", one kilometre from the road that runs from Carataunas to Pampaneira, (in the heart of La Alpujarra), with beautiful views of the ravines, mountain ranges and valleys. The farmhouse has been recently renovated and, apart from the house, has approximately one hectare of land between the garden, swimming pool, reading area and the rest is made up of olive groves, almonds and orange trees; where guests can also pick tomatoes and other vegetables from our own vegetable garden. The whole perimeter of land is fenced off, and there is an irrigation canal along its southern part which waters the Vale of Órgiva, giving the land a certain freshness. A magnificent place to relax and enjoy nature . This is a farmhouse with a lot of history and family tradition, which has been passed down from generation to generation. The house offers all the charm of days gone by with the comfort of modern times. The restoration work was carried out using stone and wood, and we have aimed to preserve the style of the past with traditional farming tools , oil lamp lighting and age-old switches. Our House 1 is composed along its almost 90m2 of two rooms, with capacity for 2 people each, each room is named after one of the towns of the Alpujarra Granadina. One of them has a double bed of 135 and the other has two beds of 90, and also a flat screen TV. Both rooms are equipped with a usb connector on the wall next to the bedside table. The living room has a fireplace and flat screen TV, sofa bed, side table and dining table with chairs. It also has a large lacena furniture, which presides over part of the living room. It is located in the middle of the house between the two bedrooms and the bathrooms. The main bathroom has two sinks, a rain shower and a toilet. The light has an adjustable tone control, so that you can adapt it as the client likes it the most. It also has piped music so that you can connect the music that the client wants the most through bluetooh. Another point to highlight is that we have endowed it with Rituals of Dao cosmetics so that the client can experience a sensation full of smell.
