The sizeable garden slopes gently down to a large 8km beach, fairly empty for most of the year. The garden itself is of a "controlled wilderness" type; juniper bushes (a protected species) break the rhythm of the large lawn, and several palm trees will whisper to us from on high with their slender trunks swaying gracefully in the wind. Atlantic Spain? Atlantic Caribbean? It could be either, really. Waves break rhythmically on the sand below, the breeze almost always warm or hot, and what could certainly be said to be heaven. As we walk through the front door, we are already confronted with the sea view and the spacious open plan living room. It is a single storey building, like all beachfront properties in this area, so the ceilings are high, creating a pleasant airy ambience throughout. Carefully selected antiques combine with wicker sofas and sisal rugs to provide a simple but classic décor. Large glass doors open onto a covered terrace that runs the width of the building, the open-air dining area at one end and comfortable seating at the other. Casa Encinar is an excellent choice if you are travelling with children or elderly people. Although it was built only 10 years ago, the house has a charm and atmosphere normally only seen in older houses. The use of weathered wood as well as the traditional whitewashed walls, terracotta floors and typical multicoloured mosaics give it an unmistakable flavour of a traditional Andalusian country house - even though it is located in the centre of a luxury urbanisation (with all kinds of services) and only 5 minutes walk from a stunning beach. Casa del Nómada entered our collection in 2019. It is an elegant Atlantic beach house, just a short walk (1km) or bike ride from one of the most spectacular stretches of sandy beach on the Costa de la Luz. Situated at the rear of the urbanisation of Roche, the location is quiet, yet less than 5 minutes by bike from the local minimarket (fresh bread), bar and children's playground. And in the summer months within walking distance are several of Cadiz's famous chiringuitos (beach bars). Having said that, this is a house you will want to spend time in; it has been designed precisely for that, offering that little bit more than the typical beach house. The property underwent a major refurbishment in 2018 and the result was a well proportioned and well laid out single storey house, ideal for couples but at the same time comfortable for groups of up to 10 people. Situated less than 200 metres from one of the best beaches on the Costa de la Luz, Casa Almadraba offers that combination of beach, comfortable home and mature garden that is so hard to find on the Cádiz coast. The house is situated in the exclusive urbanisation of Roche, in a quiet cul-de-sac that ends in a flight of steps leading directly down to the beach, which stretches 7km in one direction to the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri and in the other some 500 metres to the small sandstone cliffs that rise to form a series of small coves known as the Calas de Conil . The house, with its Andalusian style (whitewashed walls and tiled roofs) was built just under 20 years ago. It is surrounded by a mature garden of Mediterranean pines, palm trees, gum trees, bougainvillea and wisteria.
