1. Warner Park of San Martín de la Vega, Madrid

If you are staying in Madrid, take your children to see their favourite characters like Superman, Batman, or Bugs Bunny at Warner's Park.

Located in San Martin de la Vega, this park has many unique attractions and a wide range of shows. Warner Park has been named as one of the best amusement parks in Europe and is home to one of the highest rides in the world - the Venganza del Enigma. Its carriages reach up to 100 metres in height, then plunge down, at a speed of 80 km/h.

Another attraction for the most daring is "Superman" where you will experience a journey at superhero speed. If you want to be part of the Scooby-Doo gang, discover the mysteries in the haunted mansion.

2. Port Aventura, The Costa Dorada

Port Aventura is one of the favourite theme park destinations in Spain as well as the third largest theme park in Europe. This park offers 6 themed areas where you can let your imagination run wild and release your inner child in the Mediterranean, Polynesian, Chinese, Mexican, Far West and Sésamo adventures.

Each area in the park has its own respective shows and attractions, among them is roller coaster "Dragon Khan," with one of the highest loops ever created. If you are a thrill seeker, visit "Furius Baco," a roller coaster that reaches a chilling speed of 135 km/h in just 3.5 seconds - making it the fastest in Europe. In 2016, the new theme park "Ferrari Land" opened its doors, and has been a hit with motor lovers. 3. Dinópolis de Teruel

This park/museum, located in Teruel, Aragón combines science and leisure, through discovering the exciting world of dinosaurs. Your journey will transport you to the beginning of life on earth, where extinct creatures appear to come alive again. See these models made with realistic dimensions and learn about some of the most incredible creatures that have inhabited the earth.

If you like fossils you are in luck, the Paleontological Museum is spectacular and its facilities include a 3D cinema, virtual 4D simulator, themed tours and a walk through the evolution of Homosapiens. Do not miss the T-rex show, your children will love watching dinosaurs come alive.

There are more themed tours, both for children and adults. 'The Last Minute,' is a boat ride that showcases the evolution of Homosapiens. Another route is 'The Journey in Time' that explains the theory of the Big Bang and the events that led to the extinction of dinosaurs.

4. Siam Park, Tenerife

If you decide to spend your holidays with children in Tenerife, take them to one of the best water parks in Spain, Siam Park. The park has Thai inspired architecture, brimming with lush vegetation as well as man-made rivers and waterfalls. The Lost City is an attraction that adults will appreciate too. Siam Park has 29 slides, one of them is only suitable for the most intrepid, with an almost vertical fall that runs through a shark aquarium at high speed.

5. Loro Park, Tenerife

Another world-famous park that is worth visiting if you choose to stay in Tenerife with your children is Loro Parque. This park sits in the valley of La Orotava, a natural paradise where many animal species inhabit. Wander through this park and discover "Antarctica" at Planet Penguin, an iceberg with more than 200 penguins; see Orcas in "Orca Ocean" and watch dolphins performing acrobatics, among many other activities.

6. Tibidabo Amusement Park, Barcelona

Tibidabo amusement park in Barcelona city is more than 500 metres above sea level and offers some of the most spectacular views of the city. Located at the top of Collserola Natural Park locals call it "magic mountain" and it is recognised as an iconic symbol of Barcelona. The park is now over 100 years old, making it the 3rd oldest amusement park in Europe. 7. Isla Mágica, Seville

A day trip to Isla Mágica is ideal for children when you are renting a holiday home in Seville. This amusement park has many attractions suitable for all ages. The Jaguar roller coaster has five inversions and a helix twist at the end - as the largest roller coaster in Isla Mágica, experience falling from a height of 32 metres and achieve a maximum speed of 85 km/h. Anaconda is a log flume ride with three drops - amidst dense vegetation, enter a journey of climbs, sharp turns and dramatic drops.

8. Tivoli World, Benalmadena

Tivoli World is one of the best attractions for families in Benalmadena. Between fountains and gardens, there are many attractions and rides for the whole family. They also host flamenco shows, expositions, shows for children and various events throughout the year.
