These self-catering cottages also locally known as casa rural are located in the heart of Las Alpujarras in the National Park in Sierra Nevada near Granada, Andalusia. The unique geographical location makes it ideal from the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean to the south and the Alhambra in Granada to the north. This cortijo (one of 3) is ideally situated for a couple looking for a break from it all. It is self contained with its own bathroom, kitchen/sitting room and one double bedroom. It has its own private terrace with seating, bbq, hammock and stunning views. It is set in large gardens with a wide variety of fruit trees as well as grassed areas and guests are welcome to wander wherever they like. It is only a short walk from the swimming pool. The large pool is filled from a natural spring water stream. The Ranch Studio in the beautiful small village of El Ferrer offers exceptional value accommodation for 1 or 2 people. Fully equipped with its own small private terrace, and shared swimming pool and hot tub. It boasts it's own private entrance, a parking space, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom and a double bed and sofa. There is also a small terrace with a small BBQ for outdoor cooking. It also has a washing machine, very useful for long stays. Right next door and in a quiet and secluded setting is the shared pool and hot tub. It comes fully equipped with all you should need for your stay, including bed linen and indoor towels. Please supply your own pool/beach towels and hairdryer if required. There is no TV. Houses are ready from 2pm on your day of arrival, and have to be vacated by 10am on your departure day. La Rueda, our cortijo and the cottage we rent, is situated 5km outside Orgiva in a hamlet called Los Agustines, at the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada. This is still a 'living' community of mainly vegetable farmers who till their land below us mostly by hand. Sit in your hammock and watch them. Often one of our lovely neighbours knocks on the door to share his produce with us. Every afternoon some goats with bells around their necks make their way down to the fields, or Paco or Jose go by with their mule. This place really is as idyllic as it sounds!
