Sant Feliu offers everything you hope to find and more. It is still an original and typical Catalunyan village, unlike other villages on the Costa Brava (Lloret, Platja d’Aro etc.) this is a place where real Spanish people live. Beautiful beaches and coves, superviews of a beautifull coastline. Try to spend at least one day on a boat!.

Sant Feliu de Guixols

Sant Feliu de Guixols has a beautiful sandy town beach backed by a glorious tree lined avenue leading from the rocky headland to the south all the way to the excellent marina.

The traffic free Rambla Vidal is a great place to shop, eat and people watch. The old town has many narrow and interesting little streets to explore, with delightful places to tarry a while over a cooling drink or strong coffee.
Sant Feliu de Guixols is one hour from Barcelona by car. The Airport and a Rail Station in Girona are approximately 30 minutes drive.

Leisure & recreation
Sant Feliu de Guixols with its privileged seaside location and fresh sea air, is a perfect place of outdoor lovers who can enjoy a spot of walking, running or cycling; there are some excellent routes for ramblers. Plus there are riding stables nearby catering for all levels of equestrian expertise.

There are great facilities for those who wish to partake in water sports and fishermen will delight in the rich waters to be found off the many headlands in the area.

Other sports locally available include athletics, several body shaping gyms, tennis, go-karts and paddle.

Cultural attractions
Sant Feliu de Guixols has an ancient Monastery dating back to the medieval era.

Beaches
The main town beach offers great facilities and is connected to the marina. The sand is fine and golden. Parking is available under the trees in the avenues behind it.

Along the coast in either direction are a multitude of small coves and longer bays with fine sand and many services. You can spend your entire holiday on a different beach every day.

Golf
There are a number of excellent and challenging courses that welcome visiting golfers within one hours drive of the resort. Check with local clubs if handicap certificate is required, a rule that is often wavered if you ask nicely.

Nightlife
The nightlife of Sant Feliu de Guixols is quite tame, although there are several bars, which have music and stay open until the early hours. Pop over the headland to S'Agaró and visit the Hit-Box Bar where you can listen to popular music, and dance the night away.

Eating out
There are many cafes, bars and restaurants in and around town, where you can experience local Catalonian cuisine. From great value ‘Menu del Dia’, where local workman enjoy a hearty meal of the day, to quite sublime and sophisticated dining suited to the elegant palate of the visiting glitterati from Barcelona.

Cuisine
The gastronomy of Catalonia is rich and varied. Principally it is the typical Mediterranean diet of fish and seafood with fresh vegetables, olives and olive oil rice and pasta.

We recommend that visitors try some traditional Catalan dishes whilst on holiday, especially delicious are

Escudella I Carn D'olla, vegetable broth with pork, veal and chicken. Pa Amb Tomàquet,

simply rustic bread, can be toasted, rubbed with tomato pulp and dressed with oil and salt; these delcious breakfast can also be served with ham, sausage or tortilla.

Coca is a very thin dough baked with onions, peppers and other vegetables served with and meats, or fish (especially sardines).

Climate
Sant Feliu de Guixols is blessed by fine weather. In the summertime it is rare to see anything other than a cloudless blue sky. The hottest days are made bearable by the gentle breeze which blows off the sea during the afternoon. Autumn and Spring weather is fine too, with occasionally rainy days watering this garden of Eden. In the winter, a fresh bracing air can give way to warm days of over 20C.

Not much to see in sant Feliu. You have to move a bit (15mn away) to find better spots

Costa Brava reviews

Didn’t see all of it but there are definitely some nice spots to see.

Sant Feliú De Guixols review

Midsize town at the seaside, pleasant, with a nice beach and plenty of restaurants and commerce. Nice market. Not spoilt.

Costa Brava reviews

Despite touristic development in some areas (avoid them), Costa Brava retains much of its charme. Many towns are still well preserved and are beautiful to visit. There are still some beautiful beaches and calas to enjoy.

Sant Feliú De Guixols review

little town with historical nucleus, local flair and every-day life (e.g. regular food markets) also in lower season (it is definitely not one of those artifical tourist villages!). Good restaurants and shopping opportunities!

Sant Feliú De Guixols review

The area is terrific and mercifully not yet too famous with the international set. Beaches, coves, hikes, scenic harbors, medieval villages, great restaurants, reasonable prices, uncrowded places. I give it 5 stars, which the software doesn't permit (maxes out at 4)

Costa Brava reviews

Same as above. Tops.
