Adeje

The coastal village of Adeje has been described as “heaven on earth”, in an article written for the British newspaper, Daily Telegraph.

The area’s rugged beauty, clean beaches, all year round sunshine, ample facilities and good selection of restaurants, makes the Costa Adeje aperfect holiday destination for families.

Places to visit
The busy and buzzing town of Playas de las Americas is just along the coast, and the pretty fishing village of La Caleta is just 15 minutes walk away.

Beaches
The beaches here are typical of Tenerife, with volcanic black sand. They are clean and there are of water and beach activities to enjoy.

Attractions
The Barranco del Infierno (Hells Gorge) is a lush green gorge, a walkers paradise, and one of the only places on the island where you can find naturally running water.

The Casa Fuerte (Strong House), which is now mainly in ruin, is still an interesting historical and architecturally important monument, worth visiting.

Adeje is also home to Siam Park, supposedly the largest water park in Europe.

Eating out

There are some excellent restaurants in and around the Costa Adeje; close by in the little fishing village of La Caleta, there is an outstanding seafood restaurant called Masia del Mar, serving some of the fines tseafood dishes on the island.

In nearby Playa de las Americas, try the Meson Castellano, which specialises in Spanish food from the mainland and has an exquisite wine cellar.

Climate
The Canary Islands enjoy practically all year round good weather. They are nicknamed the Islands of Eternal Spring and temperatures rarely drop below 16ºC and rise to around 30ºC in the summer. The climate is influenced by the island close proximity to North Africa.
